MINUTES CITY OF DRIPPING SPRINGS FARMERS MARKET ASSOCIATION REGULAR MEETING Tuesday, August 13, 2013 10:00 a.m City Hall 511 Mercer Street Dripping Springs, Texas This facility is wheelchair accessible and accessible parking spaces are available. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Marianne Simmons, Chair Gina Gillis Kambra Bolch Gouri Johannsen Sandy Pedrazas Vacancy Jo Ann Touchstone, Secretary Thomas Brownson Marianne calls the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. All present except Sandy Pedrazas and Thomas Brownson. Also present Market Manager Carolyn Hodges. II. PRESENTATIONS BY CITIZENS Floor open to discussion on any subject. No action may be taken by law. Citizens wishing to speak shall do so after being recognized by the Chair. The Chair may establish a time limit as necessary. No one speaks. III. MINUTES A. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, June 11, 2013 B. Approval of Special Meeting Minutes, June 25, 2013 C. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, July 9, 2013 Kambra motions to approve. Jo Ann seconds. Motion passes, 5-0. IV. BUSINESS Discussion and Possible Action regarding: A. Special Events for 2013 Season – Chef Demo with Sibby set for Nov. 6th. Fall Gardening event set for Sept. 18th. Invite: Ladybug, Geo Growers, Lavender Cottage, Solstice and Hays County Master Gardeners. B. Review of 2013 Vendor Applications – No applications to review. C. Review of July and August Markets – Markets have been slower, but busier than last summer. D. Proposed Hours for Remainder of 2013 Season – Board discusses. Market will naturally fall back with time change. Will ask City to string lights in trees to help give some lighting during breakdown hour. E. Rules and Regulations 1. Service Providers and Non Profits – Kambra will clarify service providers and special events. 2. Inclement Weather – Board discusses effects of rain. Market is listed as rain or shine, so those who show are charged a booth fee. 3. Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – Board discusses. Vendor feedback on program is negative. Staff required. Gina motions to decline. Marianne seconds. Motion passes, 4-0. F. Fiscal Year 2013 Budget 1. Advertising 2. Entertainment 3. Special Events 4. KDRP Sunspots Sponsorship G. Fiscal Year 2014 Budget – Gina reviews final budget. On file. V. REPORTS No Action To Be Taken: A. Update on Market Website Enhancements – Kambra has trained with Jo Ann and will work on  enhancements, including adding pictures from Melanie Cambron. VI. ANNOUNCEMENTS A.
