MINUTES CITY OF DRIPPING SPRINGS FARMERS MARKET ASSOCIATION REGULAR MEETING Tuesday, November 12, 2013 10:00 a.m City Hall 511 Mercer Street Dripping Springs, Texas This facility is wheelchair accessible and accessible parking spaces are available. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Marianne Simmons, Chair Gina Gillis Kambra Bolch Gouri Johannsen Sandy Pedrazas Aubrey Munguia Jo Ann Touchstone, Secretary Vacancy Meeting called to order at 10:10 p.m. All present except Gina Gillis and Aubrey Munguia. Also present Market Manager Carolyn Hodges. II. PRESENTATIONS BY CITIZENS Floor open to discussion on any subject. No action may be taken by law. Citizens wishing to speak shall do so after being recognized by the Chair. The Chair may establish a time limit as necessary. No one speaks. III. MINUTES A. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, October 8, 2013 – Tabled. IV. BUSINESS Discussion and Possible Action regarding: A. Review of 2013 Vendor Applications 1. Annual Members – None to review. 2. Holiday Market Members – Casa Verde will bring holiday succulent arrangements for two markets preceding Thanksgiving. B. Review of October & November Markets – Lots of produce, still new faces. Slow during last hour. C. Proposed Policy for Pro-Rated Annual Fee – Discussed whether other markets offer this and whether a calendar fee would be manageable. Will inquire with Gina regarding bookkeeping. D. Review of Live Chef Demonstration Held November 6, 2013 – Will send a thank you card to Sibby. Audience was not engaged. Need someone to MC in future. E. Amendments to 2013 Rules and Regulations – Kambra and Jo Ann will continue edits with City Attorney. F. Proposed Policy for Alternative Rain Venue at Dripping Springs Ranch Park – Board will schedule special meeting to tour the facility. G. Discussion Regarding Dates, Hours and Location for 2014 Season – Will discuss after touring DSRP. H. Proposed Food Safety Regulations from the Food and Drug Administration – Deadline for comment is Nov. 15. Jo Ann will forward FARFA email to vendors. I. Nomination of Ralph Morren to Fill Unexpired Term for Board Vacancy – Kambra motions to approve. Sandy seconds. Motion passes, 5-0. J. Participating Vendors for November 27th Thanksgiving Market – Carolyn will survey at next market. V. REPORTS A. Report on Farmers Market Manager Alliance with Area Markets – Market  Manager Jo Ann Touchstone reports that she and Carla Jenkins may host a meeting after the New Year to share ideas with local area market managers. VI. ANNOUNCEMENTS A. Regular City Council Meeting, Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. B. Farmers Market Board Association Meeting, December 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. VII.
