City of Dripping Springs Farmers Market Association Board Meeting Agenda Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 10:00 AM City Hall, 511 Mercer Street, Dripping Springs, Texas I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL COMMISSION: Gouri Johannsen - Chair Marianne Simmons Aimee Mick Diana Black Teresa Strube Charissa Giles Claudia Oney Gary Gilstrap Market Managers: Laurel Robertson The Regular Meeting of the City of Dripping Springs Farmers Market Association Board was called to order at 10:07 AM, Tuesday September 13, 2016 by Gouri Johannsen. Roll call was taken and members present included, Gouri Johannsen - Chair, Marianne Simmons, Claudia Oney, Teresa Strube, Gray Gilstrap, Charissa Giles and Aimee Mick serving as secretary. Diana Black were absent. II. PRESENTATION BY CITIZENS Floor open to discussion on any subject. No action may be taken by law. Citizens wishing to speak shall do so after being recognized by the Chair. The Chair may establish a time limit on each citizen wishing to speak. There were no presentations by citizens. III. MINUTES A. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, August 9, 2016 A motion was made by Aimee Mick and seconded by Claudia Oney to approve the Regular meeting minutes from August 9, 2016, with the following amendment. Item VI.B. should say the Belterra Newsletter was approved for purchase VOTE: 6-0 in favor, motion passes. IV. REPORTS A. Farmers Market Manager's Monthly Report Report from the Market Manager to the Board regarding Farmers Market activities. B. Fiscal Year 2016 Income Statement Monthly Report A motion was made by Gray Gilstrap and seconded by Teresa Strube to continue with the sign program. VOTE: 6-0 in favor, motion passes. V. MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS Discussion and possible action regarding: A. Marketing and Public Relations Subcommittee Report B. Market Events Planning and Updates C. City Support of Market Social Media Needs D. Farmers Market Vendor Survey Update Next meeting, review doing another survey specifically relating to time changes. Current market times after daylight savings ends would be to remain 3pm to 6pm and a new survey would be developed proposing changing market hours for next market year. VI. Allowances for Vendors of Unique Foods 2. Animal Adoption Service Organizations 3. Rules About Co-Packing and Brokering Vendors 4. Gathering Sales Data for Grants 5. Rules Regarding Smoking, Parking, Trash, and Open Carry All items discussed and revisions were suggested. Further review will be done before any rules are finalized. VIII. OTHER BUSINESS Discussion and possible action regarding: A. New Vendor Applications 1. Big Brazos Sustainable Farm No decision will be made until check is received. B. Annual Appointment of Farmers Market Association Board Vice Chair and Secretary – No action taken. C. Farmers Market Association Board Subcommittee Assignments – No action taken. IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS A.
