City of Dripping Springs Farmers Market Association Board Meeting Minutes Farmers Market Association Board Meeting Agenda Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 10:00 AM City Hall, 511 Mercer Street, Dripping Springs, Texas I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL COMMISSION: Gouri Johannsen - Chair Diana Black Claudia Oney Marianne Simmons - Vice Chair Gary Gilstrap Charissa Giles Aimee Mick - Secretary Teresa Strube Market Manager: Laurel Robertson The Regular Meeting of the City of Dripping Springs Farmers Market Association Board was called to order at 10:05AM, Thursday, February 16, 2017 by Gouri Johannsen. Roll call was taken and members present included, Gouri Johannsen - Chair, Marianne Simmons, Claudia Oney, Teresa Strube, Diana Black, Charissa Giles and Aimee Mick serving as secretary. Gary Gilstrap was absent. II. PRESENTATION BY CITIZENS Floor open to discussion on any subject. No action may be taken by law. Citizens wishing to speak shall do so after being recognized by the Chair. The Chair may establish a time limit on each citizen wishing to speak. III. MINUTES A. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, January 19, 2017 A motion was made by Marianne Simmons and seconded by Aimee Mick to approve the Regular meeting minutes from January 19, 2017, with the following amendment. Item II. PRESENTATION BY CITIZENS. Update the second paragraph to read: “Healthy Parks Healthy People Dripping Springs” will be targeting May 3rd for a nutritional demo at a Farmers Market. The Marketing committee will discuss further and bring a vote to the Farmers Market Board at a later date. Vote: 7-0 in favor, motion passes. IV. REPORTS A. Farmers Market Manager's Monthly Report Report from the Market Manager to the Board regarding Farmers Market activities. B. Fiscal Year 2017 Income Statement Monthly Report The budget will be amended at a later date to more closely reflect actual data. V. OTHER BUSINESS Discussion and possible action regarding: A. New Vendor Applications 1. The Koen Family Farm and Ranch (Lamb and Beef) Currently we have not received fee. The Market Manager will follow up. 2. LeBoueff Farm (Pork and Chicken) We do not have a completed application at this date. B. Big Brazos Sustainable Farm Vendor Inspection Report More information is needed before a vote can be taken. Page 1 of 3  C. Budget Tomato Round-Up Coordinator Hours A motion was made to approve the Market Manager, Laurel Butler, spending market coordinator hours on the coordination of the Tomato Round-Up. Vote: 7-0 in favor, motion passes. D. Discuss the date and details for Vendor Orientation and Social March 29, 2017 will be the date for the Vendor Social. VI. MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS Discussion and possible action regarding: A. Marketing and Public Relations Committee Report - Marianne Simmons No new news. B. Market Events Planning and Updates - Marianne Simmons 1. Healthy Parks, Healthy People event at FM on May 03 The Market Manager will ask Bountiful Pantry to make a presentation. Committee will talk about sponsorship for this event. C. USDA Grant Application Deadline is March 27, 2017. Item was tabled. D. Discuss about sponsoring Alex Dormont's band at the Night Sky Festival in March (Laurel) A motion was made by Marianne Simmons and seconded to Theresa Strube to provide $100.00 to the Night Sky Festival for sponsorship of Alex Dormont’s Band and provide a gift bag including $20.00 of wooden nickels. Vote: 7-0 in favor, motion passes. E. Participation in DSRP Rodeo (Laurel) Tabled due to not enough information. VII. MARKET VENUE Discussion and Possible Action regarding: A. Triangle Parking Issues B. Market Layout Issues C. Market Information Booth VIII. SPONSORSHIPS SUBCOMMITTEE Discussion and possible action regarding: A. Discussion Regarding Increasing Sponsorship Activity Sponsorship flyer will be updated and submitted to the City for on-line publishing. IX. RULES AND REGULATIONS SUBCOMMITTEE Discussion and possible action regarding: A. Dripping Springs Farmers Market Rules and Regulations Revisions Update (Marianne Simmons) Tabled. X.
