Minutes of Farmers Market Meeting
Thursday, June 15, 2017 10:00 am
City Hall, 511 Mercer Street, Dripping Springs, Texas
I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
COMMISSION;
Gouri Johannsen - Chair Claudia Oney Teresa Strube
Marianne Simmons - Vice Chair Lori Broughton
Market Manager: Laurel Robertson
Chair Gouri Johannsen called meeting to order at 10:21 and conducted roll call.
Board members present: Gouri Johannsen, Marianne Simmons, Teresa Strube and
Lori Broughton.
II. PRESENTATION BY CITIZENS
Floor open to discussion on any subject. No action may be taken by law. Citizens
wishing to speak shall do so after being recognized by the Chair. The Chair may
establish a time limit on each citizen wishing to speak.
Lori Broughton was welcomed as newest board member by Gouri and all
attending meeting.
III. MINUTES
Reviewed minutes for May 18, 2017 meeting; Marianne moved to approve mins,
Teresa seconded, VOTE: all in favor, motion passed.
IV. REPORTS
A. Market Manager Laurel’s May reports were reviewed.
B. Re: Income Statement, see IX. A. below
V. MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS
A. Marianne reported on HOA effort, rack cards, and grant money.
B. Teresa noted there are no seeded watermelons at HEB for FM’s
participation at rodeo. Marianne will talk with vendor growing watermelons.
VI. TOMATO ROUNDUP
A. Discussion re: t-shirts, expense, order. Board tabled order.
B. Discussion re: parking, special event responsibilities.
VII. SPONSORSHIPS COMMITTEE
Tabled discussion
VIII. RULES AND REGULATIONS COMMITTEE
No new additions or changes. Council scheduled to adopt ordinance next meeting.
IX. OTHER BUSINESS
A. Discussed 2017-2018 budget changes, amounts, line items. Gouri will
distribute draft to approve or tweak at 7-20-17 meeting, with possible extra
meeting devoted to budget.
B. No new vendor applications to review
C. Market fee structure discussion. More info to be gathered by Laurel
and Marianne. Future discussion will include Rules and Regs.
D. Laurel’s hours and pay tabled
E. Board members chose vendors to inspect
F. Musician pay discussed. They receive money from water bottle sales,
and they collect tips and sell CDs. Laurel will encourage vendors to make
donations to musicians, and Gouri suggested line item for end-of-year token gift.
Marianne moved to decline paying musicians, Gouri seconded. VOTE: all in
favor, motion passed.
X. ANNOUNCEMENTS
Possible extra budget work meeting July 11, 2017

Marianne moved to adjourn meeting at 12:25 pm; Gouri seconded. VOTE: all in
favor, motion passed.
