City of Dripping Springs Farmers Market Association Board Meeting Minutes Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 10:00 AM City Hall, 511 Mercer Street, Dripping Springs, Texas I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL COMMISSION: Gouri Johannsen - Chair Claudia Oney Lori Broughton Marianne Simmons - Vice Chair Charissa Giles Vacant Teresa Strube - Secretary Sara Gates CITY STAFF: Market Manager - Laurel Robertson Parks Director - Mariana Espinosa Chair Gouri Johannsen called the meeting to order at 10:06 and conducted roll call. Charissa, Lori, and Sara were absent. Charissa resigned from the Board. Board members present: Gouri Johannsen, Marianne Simmons, Claudia Oney, and Teresa Strube. Laurel Robertson and Mariana Espinosa were also present. II. PRESENTATION BY CITIZENS Floor open to discussion on any subject. No action may be taken by law. Citizens wishing to speak shall do so after being recognized by the Chair. The Chair may establish a time limit on each citizen wishing to speak. No guests present. III. MINUTES Approval of the Minutes of the Meetings dated: 1-18-18; Gouri moved to approve, Claudia seconded; VOTE: all in favor, motion passed. 3-15-18; Marianne moved to approve with modification; Gouri seconded; VOTE: all in favor, motion passed. 4-19-18; Marianne moved to approve with modification; Gouri seconded; VOTE: all in favor, motion passed. 5-17-18; Marianne moved to approve with modification; Claudia seconded; VOTE: all in favor, motion passed. IV. REPORTS A. Parks and Community Services Report Reviewed report. Discussion re current activities. B. Farmers Market Manager's Monthly Report - Laurel Robertson Reviewed report. Discussion re musicians. C. Fiscal Year 2018 Income Statement Monthly Report for month ending May 2018. Tabled V. MARKETING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS Discussion and possible action regarding: A. Marketing and Public Relations Committee Report - Marianne Simmons 1. Tomato Time! Report - Laurel Robertson (First week) $137 in token sales, 30 entries; discussion re next week’s competition 2. Carrot Sculpture update - Mariana Tabled. B. FMC Farmers Market Metrics Subcommittee Update - Gouri Johannsen Tabled C. Social Media Update - Instagram, FB Market Event Discussion re social media plan and survey created by Bonnie Gonzalez; Mariana will meet with her and both will report next meeting. VI. MARKET VENUE Discussion and possible action regarding: A. TIRZ Board Meeting Report - Lori Broughton Tabled. VII. SPONSORSHIPS AND GRANTS SUBCOMMITTEE Discussion and possible action regarding: A. Sponsorship Activity Discussion re increased activity and proposal to combine all event sponsorships into one form. B. Grants Activity No activity VIII. RULES AND REGULATIONS SUBCOMMITTEE Discussion and possible action regarding: A. Rules and Regulation Activity Tabled IX. OTHER BUSINESS Consideration and possible action regarding: A. Discussion regarding FY 2018-2019 Budget Requests Claudia motioned to approve budget with adjustments; Marianne seconded; VOTE: all in favor, motion passed. B. New Vendor Applications - Laurel Robertson Reviewed issues re vendor applications  Claudia motioned to reject application from Tapout Fitness, but suggested they become a market Sponsor; Marianne seconded; VOTE: all in favor, motion passed. Marianne motioned that This Old Wood provide clarification of products for sale at market, and complete application already submitted; Gouri seconded; VOTE: all in favor, motion passed. C. Vendor List for Inspection Scheduling - Laurel Robertson Tabled D. Market Manager Duties and Hours - Gouri Johannsen Discussion and options re: Manager’s hours and pay. Further discussion neeeded. X.
