City of Dripping Springs Founder’s Day Commission Monthly Meeting January 13, 2015 Attending: Brenda Medcalf, Evan Taddia, Paul Sanchez, Stephanie Holtzendorf, Sharon Goss, Mike Monaghan, Ted Lehr. Visitor: Paul Slusser Absent: Trent Edwards, Brad Thomas, Karl Seelback, Chris Nuccio, Steve Fournier I. Call to Order: 6:40 pm by Brenda Medcalf II. Presentation of Citizens None. III. Minutes: Minutes of the December 10, 2014 were submitted. Ted made a motion to accept the minutes as submitted. Mike seconded. Minutes approved. IV. Standing Committee Reports A. Site Plan  Beer booth that will be located down by the crawfish vendor booth will have electricity from the pole by Short Mama’s.  Will need to find out if the extra booth will affect liquor license. B. Food  No Report. C. Entertainment  No Report. D. Arts & Crafts  Buddy lets some participant’s park trailers at his business. After they unload they turn around and go against traffic flow to go and park there causing a dangerous situation. Need to ask Buddy to let them know how to get over to his area and when they can park there.  Many applications have already been received for arts and crafts booths.  Extra trash cans need to be put down by the crawfish vendor. There was a lot of trash there after the parade last year. Large cardboard trash containers may be available. E. Business Booths  No Report. F. Parade  Parade theme: Destination: Drippin 1 Founders Day Monthly Meeting 01/13/2015 G. Publicity  No Report. H. Sponsorship/Underwriting  Sponsorship letters will go out as soon as they are approve.  Letters will be sent to commissioners electronically so the letters can be sent to potential sponsors. I. Sanitation  Jose Moore will charge $750 to blow and sweep the streets after Founders Day closes.  3 quotes received for outhouses. Low bid from Lone Star Latrine. Owner worked for Austin Outhouse.  J. Security  Entry and Exit routes for cookers, food vendors and arts and crafts vendors will be discussed at the next meeting.  Evan will contact Chad Fuchs to see if he will be doing parking again. K. Traffic/Parking  A place will need to be determined for the residents of Mercer Street to park. A Building will be going in the area from last year designated as parking.  Commission will need to look into parking at the high school. Permission will have to be obtained from the school district.  If a group volunteers to do parking/shuttle they will be in charge of the fees, shuttle times, etc. L. Volunteers  No Report. IV. Business A. Parade Theme  Discussion held on what the parade theme should be. Everyone agreed on ‘Destination: Drippin’. Ted made a motion to accept the parade theme. AJ seconded. Parade theme accepted. VI. Adjourn  Motion to Adjourn made by Evan. Seconded by Sharon.
