Historic Preservation Commission Meeting Minutes
A regular meeting of the City of Dripping Springs Historic Preservation Commission was held Monday, May 2,
2016, beginning at 6:30 PM in the City Hall, 511 Mercer Street, Dripping Springs, Texas.
I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
COMMISSION:
Ted Lehr - Chair Kristi Graham John Holdridge
Karl Seelbach - Vice Chair Charlie Haydon Kathryn Chandler
Melissa Oehler
STAFF:
Michelle Fischer, City Administrator
Kerri Craig, City Secretary
Keenan Smith, Exterior Design, Architectural & Land Planning Consultant
Commission Chair Ted Lehr calls the meeting to order at 6:35pm. All present.
II. PRESENTATION BY CITIZENS
Floor open to discussion on any subject. No action may be taken by law. Citizens wishing to
speak shall do so after being recognized by the Chair. The Chair may establish a time limit on
each citizen wishing to speak. No one speaks
III. CONSENT ITEMS
Discussion and possible action regarding:
A. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, April 4, 2016 - Commissioner Melissa Oehler motions
to approve the minutes. Commissioner John Holdridge seconds. VOTE: 6-0 in favor, motion
passes.
IV. BUSINESS
Discussion and possible action regarding:
A. Certificate of Appropriateness for Protection and Stabilization of Structures and
Improvements at 100 Old Fitzhugh Road, Pamela Bosco, Applicant
1. Presentation – Keenan Smith, Applicant’s Representative
2. Staff Report – Consultant Eugene Foster, report on file. In accordance with the applicant’s
proposed plan to protect and stabilize existing historic architectural and landscape features
of this historic property and with the applicant’s agreement to postpone the proposed Item
F demolition activities until a Master Plan is developed and presented to the DSHPC for
further review, Mr. Foster recommends approval of the proposed work as described by the
applicant.

4. Certificate of Appropriateness - Commissioner Charles Haydon motions to approve the
Certificate of Appropriateness. Commissioner Kathryn Chandler seconds. VOTE: 6-0 in
favor, motion passes.

B. Certificate of Appropriateness for Protection and Stabilization of the Roberts House at 310
Old Fitzhugh Road, Tasha Nikora, Applicant
1. Presentation - None
2. Staff Report – City Administrator Michelle Fischer, report on file. Staff recommends
approval.
3. Public Hearing – No one speaks
4. Certificate of Appropriateness – Commission Vice Chair Karl Seelbach motions to
approve the Certificate of Appropriateness according to staff’s recommendation.
Commissioner Melissa Oehler seconds. VOTE: 6-0 in favor, motion passes.
C. Certificate of Appropriateness for Demolition of Structures and Improvements at 28485
Ranch Road 12, Robert Avera, AAA Demolition, Applicant
1. Presentation - None
2. Staff Report – City Administrator Michelle Fischer, report on file. Staff recommends
approval of the Certificate of Appropriateness with the condition that trees over 8 inches in
diameter on the site shall be protected during the demolition.
3. Public Hearing – No one speaks
4. Certificate of Appropriateness – Commission Vice Chair Karl Seelbach motions to
approve the Certificate of Appropriateness. Commissioner Charles Haydon seconds.
VOTE: 6-0 in favor, motion passes.
