Historic Preservation Commission Regular Meeting Minutes December 5, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. A Regular Meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission was held Wednesday December 5, 2018 beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 511 Mercer Street, Dripping Springs, Texas. I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Commission Members present were: Kelli Tucker, Chair Dean Erickson Doyle Fellers Minnie Glosson-Needham Emilie Kopp Bruce Lewis Commission Members absent were: Vice Chair Melissa Starr City Staff/Appointed Officials present were: Michelle Fischer, City Administrator Amanda Padilla, City Planner II Keenan Smith, Historic Preservation Consultant With a quorum of the Commission present, Chair Tucker called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. II. PRESENTATION OF CITIZENS Floor open to discussion on any subject. No action may be taken by law. Citizens wishing to speak shall do so after being recognized by the Chair. The Chair may establish a time limit on each citizen wishing to speak. No one spoke during Presentation by Citizens. III. MINUTES A. Discuss and consider approval of the Historic Preservation Commission Regular Meeting Minutes of November 7, 2018 A motion was made by Commissioner Erickson to table this item to the January 9th, 2019 Historic Preservation Meeting. Commissioner Kopp seconded the motion which carried unanimously 6 to 0. Historic Preservation Commission December 5, 2018 Regular Meeting Minutes Page 1 of 3 IV. BUSINESS A. Presentation on Preliminary Logo Concepts for the Dripping Springs Historic Preservation Commission, Ben Steckbeck, Mixtape Agency Ben and Craig Steckbeck presented the item. Ben Steckbeck presented multiple conceptual logos to get a feel for what the commission would like to see. Ben and Craig asked the Commission to sleep on their comments and provide them feedback by Friday December 7th or Wednesday December 12th, 2018. The Commission noted they liked to options but would like to see a few items changed. V. COMMITTEE REPORTS A. Historic District Brochure Committee - Commissioner Kopp and Commissioner Needham-Glosson Commissioner Kopp updated the Commission on the Brochure status. Commissioner Kopp noted that the next step is to write up the information to be placed in the Brochure and review with Commissioner Needham-Glosson. B. Banner Committee - Commissioner Fellers Commissioner Fellers updated the Commission on the status of banners. The Committee has decided to hold off on the approval of the banners until the Logo has been decided. C. National Register of Historic Places Plaques Committee - Chair Tucker and Vice Chair Starr No update. VI. EXECUTIVE SESSION The Historic Preservation Commission for the City of Dripping Springs has the right to adjourn into executive session at any time during the course of this meeting to discuss any matter as authorized by Texas Government Code Sections 551.071 (Consultation with Attorney), 551.072 (Deliberations about Real Property), 551.073 Deliberations about Gifts and Donations), 551.074 Personnel Matters), 551.076 (Deliberations about Security Devices), and 551.086 (Economic Development). The Historic Preservation Commission for the City of Dripping Springs may act on any item listed in Executive Session in Open Session or move any item from Executive Session to Open Session for action. The Commission did not meet in Executive Session. VII. UPCOMING MEETINGS A. ADJOURN A motion was made by Commissioner Erickson to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Kopp seconded the motion which carried 5 to 1, with Commissioner Fellers opposed.
