PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING

1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
Vice Chair Eric Russell calls the meeting to order at 6:03 pm and takes roll call.
Present: Commissioner Eric Russell, Vice Chair(DSYSA); Commissioner Robert
Hayden(CODS); Commissioner Rich Moore(DSISD); Commissioner Shelly Reeves
(DSISD); and Commissioner Eric Henline(DSISD). Absent: Commissioner Robbie
Zamora, Chair(DSYSA); Commissioner Britt Figueroa(CODS); and Commissioner
Thao Phan(CODS). Also present are City Administrator Michelle Fischer and Brent
Luck, with Luck Design Team.
IL PRESENTATION BY CITIZENS-Ms. Fischer reports on the status ofthe Sustainable
Places Project. She states that the final report will be presented to the City Council on
December lO"^ and the City is seeking public comment on the plan. There will be a
public hearing at the meeting and the Council may take action on the plan.
III. CONSENT ITEMS
Discussion and Possible Action regarding:
A. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, November II,2013-This item is
skipped since the minutes have not been completed.
IV. BUSINESS
Discussion and Possible Action regarding:
A. Update of City of Dripping Springs Master Plan for Parks, Recreation and
Open Space, Including Review of Public Input and Establishing Priorities,
and Update of City-Wide Trail Plan-Mr. Luck gives and overview of the draft
trail vision plan. Commissioners provide feedback on the plan. No action is
taken.
B. Update on the City's Application to the National Park Service Rivers, Trails
& Conservation Assistance Program-Ms. Fischer reports that the City's
application has been recommended for approval. She, Commissioner Hayden,
and Melody Mitchell met with NPS representatives to discuss the scope of the
grant. The City is expecting £ui official letter notifying the City that the
application has been accepted and describes the scope of services for the grant
program. No action taken.
V. REPORTS
Thefollowing updates relate to the planning and administration ofthe City's Parks &
Recreation Program. No Action to be Taken:
A. Maintenance Report- Michael Keaton-on file.
B. Revenues and Expenses Report- Michelle Fischer, City Administrator-on file.
C. Charro Ranch Park - Robert Hayden-The design for the trail signs are being
worked on.
D. Founders Memorial Park - Robbie Zamora and Eric Henline-no report.
E. Dripping Springs Ranch Park - Rich Moore and Britt Figueroa-no report.
F. Sports & Recreation Park - Eric Russell and Shelly Reeves-no report.
G. Veterans Memorial Park and Triangle - Thao Phan-no report.
H. Farmers Market Report- Jo Ann Touchstone, Market Manager-on file.
