Parks and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting City of Dripping Springs A Parks and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting, City of Dripping Springs, was held Monday, December 8, 2014, beginning at 6:00 PM at City Hall, 511 Mercer Street, Dripping Springs, Texas. I. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL Robbie Zamora, Chair (DSYSA) Eric Russell, Vice Chair (DSYSA) Robert Hayden (CODS) Rich Moore (DSISD) Wade King (CODS) Ron Jones (DSISD) Eric Henline (DSISD) Britt Figueroa (CODS) City Staff/Appointed Officials: Michelle Fischer, City Administrator Commission Chair Robbie Zamora called the meeting to order at 6:03pm. All present except Commissioner Ron Jones, Commissioner Britt Figueroa, and City Secretary Kerri Craig. Also present were Planning Director Jon Thompson and Brent Luck (Consultant). II. PRESENTATION BY CITIZENS Discussion open to floor on any subject. No action may be taken by law. Citizens wishing to speak shall do so after being recognized by the Chair. The Chair and Commission may establish a time limit on each citizen wishing to speak. No one speaks III. CONSENT ITEMS Discussion and Possible Action Regarding: A. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, November 10, 2014 Commissioner Wade King motions to approve staff recommendation. Commissioner Rich Moore seconds. VOTE 6-0 in favor, motion passes. IV. BUSINESS Consideration and Possible Action On: A. Report on City of Dripping Springs Parks, Recreation & Open Space Master Plan 2014- 2024 - Brent Luck, Report on file. Discussion about Skate Park request and Pound House request for Designation as a Historic Landmark. B. Request from Friends of the Pound House Foundation Board to Create a Founders Memorial Park Advisory Committee on the Preservation, Enhancement and Use of Founders Memorial Park - No action taken. Directed to include in the City of Dripping Springs Parks, Recreation & Open Space Master Plan 2014-2024. C. Blue Blazes Subdivision Parkland Dedication 1  1. Presentation - Christine Moon provides overview. Report on file. 2. Staff Report – Planning Director Jon Thompson, report on file. Staff recommends approval. 3. Public Hearing – No one speaks 4. Parkland Dedication – Commission discusses the dedication. Commissioner Rich Moore motions to approve staff recommendation. Commissioner Eric Henline seconds. VOTE 6-0 in favor, motion passes. D. Legacy Trails, Section 3 Parkland Dedication 1. Presentation – Mike Reyes, Big Red Dog Engineering, provides overview. Report on file. 2. Staff Report – Planning Director Jon Thompson, report on file. 3. Public Hearing – No one speaks 4. Parkland Dedication - Commission discusses the dedication. Commissioner Eric Henline motions to approve staff recommendation subject to the amendment in Brent Luck’s memo. Commissioner Robert Hayden seconds. VOTE 6-0 in favor, motion passes. E. Meritage Subdivision Parkland Dedication 1. Presentation – Pete Verdicchio passes out a new plan and gives and overview. 2. Staff Report – Planning Director Jon Thompson report on file. 3. Public Hearing – No one speaks 4. Parkland Dedication - Commission discusses the dedication. Commissioner Eric Henline motions to approve revised plan with the condition that it is consistent with Brent Luck’s report. HOA maintenance documents submitted, reviewed and found acceptable by the City Attorney and Staff. Commissioner Rich Moore seconds. VOTE 6-0 in favor, motion passes. V.
