Parks and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting Minutes
A regular meeting of the City of Dripping Springs Parks and Recreation Commission was held Monday, February 9, 2015,
beginning at 6:00 PM in the City Hall, 511 Mercer Street, Dripping Springs, Texas.
I. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL

City Staff/Appointed Officials: Michelle Fischer, City Administrator
Commission Chair Robbie Zamora calls the meeting to order at 6:05pm. All present except
Commissioner Robert Hayden.
II. PRESENTATION BY CITIZENS
Discussion open to floor on any subject. No action may be taken by law. Citizens wishing to
speak shall do so after being recognized by the Chair. The Chair and Commission may
establish a time limit on each citizen wishing to speak.
Teresa Strube – Concerned about the trails at Springs at Onion Creek.
Vicky Beal – Concerned about the Springs at Onion Creek density and flooding in this sensitive
area.
III. CONSENT ITEMS
Discussion and Possible Action Regarding:
A. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, January 26, 2015 - Commission Vice Chair Eric
Russell motions to approve the minutes. Commissioner Britt Figueroa seconds. VOTE: 6-0
in favor, Commissioner Ron Jones abstains, motion passes.
IV. BUSINESS
Consideration and Possible Action On:
A. Update on the Parkland Dedication for Springs at Onion Creek Subdivision, located at 1601
Creek Road, Clint Jones, Applicant - No action taken. Commission Vice Chair Eric Russell
and City Administrator Michelle Fischer give reports.
B. Report on Corrections and Clarifications in City of Dripping Springs Parks, Recreation &
Open Space Draft Master Plan 2014-2024 – No action taken. City Administrator Michelle
Fischer, report on file.
C. Trails Plan Advisory Committee Update on Trails located in the City Limits, Wade King and
Robert Hayden – No action taken. City Administrator Michelle Fischer provides an update.
V. REPORTS
The following updates relate to the planning and administration of the City's Parks &
Recreation Program. No Action to be Taken:
A. Revenues and Expenses Report - Gina Gillis, City Treasurer – A budget amendment has

been recommended by the City Treasurer for consideration by the City Council at its next
meeting, adding $1,000 to the Parks Equipment budget.
B. Maintenance Director's Report-Robert Steepe – Report on file. Working on the estimate for
repairs of the pool at Founders Memorial Park.
C. Charro Ranch Park - Robert Hayden – No report.
D. Founders Memorial Park - Robbie Zamora and Eric Henline – Robbie and Eric will meet
with DSISD to review pool operations. They recommend a sign be made and installed that
says “AED inside” for the pool area.
E. Dripping Springs Ranch Park - Rich Moore and Britt Figueroa – Rich Moore states that a
bathroom attendee is required for larger events.
F. Sports & Recreation Park - Eric Russell – Light inspection is being scheduled.
G. Veterans Memorial Park & Triangle - Wade King – Driveway/culvert repair estimates are
being obtained.
H. Farmers Market Report - Market Manager – Stacy Qualls, report on file.
I. Parkland Dedication Ordinance Committee - Melody Mitchell – Pending legal review and
advice.
VI. ANNOUNCEMENTS
A. Regular City Council Meeting, February 10, 2015 at 5:30 p.m.
B. Regular City Council Meeting, February 17, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.
C. Regular Parks & Recreation Commission Meeting, March 9, 2015, at 6:00 p.m.
VII. ADJOURN
Commissioner Rich Moore motions to adjourn the meeting. Commission Vice Chair Eric Russell seconds.
VOTE: 7-0 in favor, motion passes. Meeting adjourns at 7:06pm.
