Parks and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting Minutes
A regular meeting of the City of Dripping Springs Parks and Recreation Commission was held Monday, April 13, 2015,
beginning at 6:00 PM in the City Hall, 511 Mercer Street, Dripping Springs, Texas.
I. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL

Wade King (CODS) Ron Jones (DSISD)
Eric Henline (DSISD) Britt Figueroa (CODS)
City Staff/Appointed Officials: Michelle Fischer, City Administrator
Commission Chair Robbie Zamora called the meeting to order at 6:06pm. All present
except Commission Vice Chair Eric Russell and Commissioner Ron Jones. Also present
are Garry Child.
II. PRESENTATION BY CITIZENS
Discussion open to floor on any subject. No action may be taken by law. Citizens
wishing to speak shall do so after being recognized by the Chair. The Chair and
Commission may establish a time limit on each citizen wishing to speak. – No one
speaks.
III. CONSENT ITEMS
Discussion and Possible Action Regarding:
A. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, February 9, 2015 - Commissioner Eric
Henline motions to approve the minutes. Commissioner Wade King seconds. VOTE:
5-0 in favor, Commissioner Robert Hayden abstains because he was absent from the
February 9, 2015 meeting, motion passes.
IV. BUSINESS
Consideration and Possible Action On:
A. Request from Dripping Springs Youth Sports Association Lacrosse to use fields at
Founders Memorial Park on April 25th and 26th, 2015 – Commission Chair Robbie
Zamora states that she is concerned about the safety of the 5th – 8th grade players
because that is Founders Day Festival Weekend. Commissioner Rich Moore motions
to approve pending the DSYSA Board being made aware of the request from
Lacrosse. Commissioner Britt Figueroa seconds. Commissioners express concerns
with traffic in the area and potential young drivers. Ms. Fischer calls Ms. Hunt and
reports that the players are 5th to 8th graders. VOTE: 6-0 in favor, motion passes.
B. Concept Plan for Pavilion at Charro Ranch Park – Commissioner Rich Moore motions
to approve the Concept Plan pending the site plan and building permit approval by
City Staff. Commissioner Eric Henline seconds. VOTE: 6-0 in favor, motion passes.
C. Creation of Advisory Committee on the Preservation, Enhancement, and Use of
Founders Memorial Park – No action taken.

D. Creation of Veterans Memorial Park/The Triangle Advisory Committee – No action
taken.
E. Creation of Skate Park Advisory Board – No action taken.
V. REPORTS
The following updates relate to the planning and administration of the City's Parks &
Recreation Program. No Action to be Taken:
A. Revenues and Expenses Monthly Report - Gina Gillis, City Treasurer-on file.
B. Maintenance Director's Monthly Report - Robert Steepe-on file.
C. Charro Ranch Park - Robert Hayden-reports on work day and pilates trainer in park.
D. Founders Memorial Park - Robbie Zamora and Eric Henline
E. Dripping Springs Ranch Park - Rich Moore and Britt Figueroa-reports on recent
events.
F. Sports & Recreation Park - Eric Russell-reports on soccer fields lighting inspection.
G. Veterans Memorial Park & Triangle - Wade King- reports on culvert/driveway repair
approval.
H. Farmers Market Monthly Report - Market Manager
I. Parkland Dedication Ordinance Committee - Melody Mitchell
J. Trails Plan Advisory Committee Report-reports on types of trail and specifications
being worked on and that Committee will present amended City-Wide Trail Plan to
Commission next month.
VI. ANNOUNCEMENTS
A. Regular Farmers Market Association Board Meeting, April 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.
B. Regular City Council Meeting, April 14, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.
C. Regular Parks & Recreation Commission Meeting, May 11, 2015, at 6:00 p.m.
VII. ADJOURN
Commissioner Rich Moore motions to adjourn. Commissioner Britt Figueroa seconds.
VOTE: 6-0 in favor, motion passes. Meeting adjourns at 7:27pm.
