Parks and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting Minutes
A regular meeting of the City of Dripping Springs Parks and Recreation Commission was held Monday, May 11, 2015,
beginning at 6:00 PM in the City Hall, 511 Mercer Street, Dripping Springs, Texas.
I. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
Robbie Zamora, Chair (DSYSA) Eric Russell, Vice Chair (DSYSA)
Robert Hayden (CODS) Rich Moore (DSISD)
Wade King (CODS) Ron Jones (DSISD)
Eric Henline (DSISD) Britt Figueroa (CODS)
City Staff/Appointed Officials: Michelle Fischer, City Administrator
Commission Chair Robbie Zamora calls the meeting to order at 6:01pm. All present
except Commissioners Eric Henline, Rich Moore and Britt Figueroa.
II. PRESENTATION BY CITIZENS
Discussion open to floor on any subject. No action may be taken by law. Citizens
wishing to speak shall do so after being recognized by the Chair. The Chair and
Commission may establish a time limit on each citizen wishing to speak. – No one
speaks.
III. CONSENT ITEMS
Discussion and Possible Action Regarding:
A. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes, April 13, 2015
Commission Vice Chair Eric Russell motions to approve the minutes. Commissioner
Ron Jones seconds. VOTE: 3-0 in favor, Commission Vice Chair Eric Russell and
Commissioner Ron Jones abstain because they were absent for the April 13, 2015
meeting, motion passes.
IV. BUSINESS
Consideration and Possible Action On:
A. Proposed Parkland Dedication for 6.891 acres out of the Benjamin F. Hanna Survey,
A0222 & Philip A. Smith Survey, A0415, (also known as "26 Doors"), Mark Lander,
TMG Commercial, Applicant, on behalf of the Dripping Springs Lions Club, Owner –
Mark Lander, Applicant, provides an overview of the proposed Parkland Dedication.
No action taken.
B. Creation of a Founders Memorial Park Advisory Committee - Commissioner Robert
Hayden motions to approve the creation of a Founders Memorial Park Advisory
Committee with changes. Commissioner Wade King seconds. VOTE: 5-0 in favor,
motion passes.
C. Creation of a Veterans Memorial Park/The Triangle Advisory Committee -
Commissioner Ron Jones motions to approve the creation of a Veterans Memorial
Park/The Triangle Advisory Committee as discussed with five members. Commission
Vice Chair Eric Russell seconds. VOTE: 5-0 in favor, motion passes.
D. Creation of a Skate Park Advisory Committee - Commissioner Ron Jones motions to
approve the creation of a Skate Park Advisory Committee with changes.

Commissioner Wade King seconds. VOTE: 5-0 in favor, motion passes.
E. Report on Amended City-Wide Trail Plan – The Commission provided feedback
regarding the Amended City-Wide Trail Plan. No action taken.
F. Annual Report on Operation of Founders Memorial Park Pool, Community Services
Department, Dripping Springs Independent School District – No action taken.
G. Possible Application by the City of Dripping Springs to the Lower Colorado River
Authority's Community Development Partnership Program – The Commission
discussed possible grant items: 1) a pavilion at Veterans Memorial Park/The Triangle,
2) a pool deck, fence and toddler playscape, 3) and a pavilion and Eloo Toilet at
Charro Ranch Park. No action taken.
V. REPORTS
The following updates relate to the planning and administration of the City's Parks &
Recreation Program. No Action to be Taken:
A. Revenues and Expenses Monthly Report - Gina Gillis, City Treasurer
B. Maintenance Director's Monthly Report - Robert Steepe
C. Charro Ranch Park - Robert Hayden
D. Founders Memorial Park - Robbie Zamora and Eric Henline

F. Sports & Recreation Park - Eric Russell
G. Veterans Memorial Park & Triangle - Wade King
H. Farmers Market Monthly Report - Market Manager
I. Parkland Dedication Ordinance Committee - Melody Mitchell

A. Regular Farmers Market Association Board Meeting, May 12, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.
B. Regular City Council Meeting, May 12, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.
C. Regular Parks & Recreation Commission Meeting, June 8, 2015, at 6:00 p.m.
VII. ADJOURN – Commission Vice Chair Eric Russell motions to adjourn the meeting.
Commissioner Robert Hayden seconds. VOTE: 5-0 in favor, motion passes. Meeting
adjourns at 8:07 PM.
