UNFINISHED BUSINESS 6.A Develop 2026 Calendar of Events 2025 Calendar of events: (for ideas and timing consideration)  Sports  Music in the Park  New Events A tentative schedule of Events for 2025 was developed, dates were all approximate at that time.  January 13, 2025, Spring Soccer Registration Begins  February - None  March - None  April 7, 2025 Spring Soccer Registration Closes  12, 2025 Spring Soccer Opening Day  20, 2025 U6 Soccer Start  May 16, 2025 Fishing Club Registration Begins  17, 2025 Spring Soccer Ends  18, 2025 U6 Soccer Ends  28, 2025 First Fishing Club Outing, then Every 2nd & 4th Wednesday of Month  June 20, 2025 1st Movie in the Park  July 25, 2025 Movie in the Park  27 - August 2, 2025 Monroe County Fair  August 15, 2025 Movie in the Park  September 3, 2025 Last Fishing Club Outing  Late August - September Fall Soccer Ends, (will schedule end of May)  October ~4, 2025 Pumpkin Palooza (Approximate Date holder) Page 1 of 5   October ??, 2025 Dundee Days New Event Suggestions to discuss at future meetings:  Christmas Market to be held in conjunction with Christmas Parade and tree lighting. Market would include all downtown businesses.  Open to other ideas for 2026!  Open house for Civic Center with presentation of ideas and rental agreement and liabilities for usage possibilities, looking for resident input or concurrence! 6.B Items to consider for future meetings  Civic Center Rental Agreement, need to work out rental prices, who will pay, refine all amounts of rental charges and liability amounts, everything in Yellow High Light.  What are final items to include or exclude in building ie., do we need a stove in kitchen just for warming items. What size of refrigerator, how many tables & chairs, trash service, etc. All the fine points! Need to know before construction work begins to avoid more charges. ROLL CALL A Regular Meeting of Dundee Village Parks & Recreation Commission was held on January 14, 2026 at the Village Office Conference Room Present were Jacob Lechlak, Doug Steinman, George Wilkins, Jennifer Wireman, Michael Martin, Steve Ayre, Phillip LaPointe. Absent: Richard Arecheja Also present were: Charles Booth, Steve Car, Tim Bordine, Howard Ciley, Ryan Rudzis, and Michael Hoffmeister of Mannik-Smith 2. CALL TO ORDER Meeting of the Dundee Parks and Recreation Commission was called to order at: 7:01 PM. by President Lechlak. 3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Vice Chairperson Michael Martin moved, seconded by Board Member Steven Ayre, Motion to approve the agenda as printed. NEW BUSINESS 7.a Viking Park EGLE Investigation Status, Michael Hoffmeister of Mannik Smith. Page 3 of 5 Agenda Item #4.A Page 2 of 3 Draft Mikael gave a brief outline as to how the Village purchased of Viking Park came about. Purchased for $1.00 by David Uhl. No Due Diligence was done at purchase to discover location or amount of contamination or need for remediation. DNR was not informed of purchase or asked for help in remediation. Parks & Rec did apply for a grant to do a path through the park and other prep work towards improvements. We were awarded a grant for $150,000 from the DNR. We applied for a grant to apply to 2023, then 2024 but were notified by the DNR that we did not re-apply for an extension for 2025. They allowed us to do the extension for work to be done in 2027 now. The grant money is only for use on development of park, it can not be used for remediation of contaminates. At this time, Mannik-Smith supplied paper work for the sampling of contamination area and depth. DNR is paying for the study. We do not have that information yet, there-fore no cost on remediation at this time or who will pay for it. Whether the village or DNR may help us. 7.b Discussion on Dundee Civic Community Center presentation to Village Council at January 6, 2026 Meeting. Jacob summarized our presentation to Village Council Jan6, 2026 for Parks & Rec. Jacob then led discussion on the Dundee Civic Community Center. 7.c Election of officers for 2026 (if needed, I think we all have terms to complete) Article IV, Government, Section 4. Offices shall serve for one (2) year and their term of office shall begin at the close of the annual meeting at which they are elected. No member shall hold more than one office at a time. Jacob Lechlak and Doug Steinman have terms ending February 2026. They will file for application for approval to continue on the Parks & Rec Commission. 7.d Develop Yearly Calendar of Events Using last years /Calendar of events as a guide discussion was held on this years calendar of events. No dates were set at this time, more discussion required and availability of movies and bands. More discussion and setting of dates set for next month P&R meeting, February 11, 2026. 7.e Discussion of P&R Duties, Event Chairs and events offered by P&R. We have a new commission and need familiarization of our tasks and duties. Appoint those in charge, assign members to cover all events, Members are familiar with their duties.
