The City of Dyer Board of Mayor and Alderpersons met in regular session, Monday, October 14, 2019, at 7:02 PM.
Those present were Mayor Chris Younger, Alderpersons Bob Moore, Tom Mikkelsen, Jennifer Hughey, Michael
Barron, and Fred Ivie. The City Attorney was present.
Motion made by Bob Moore, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to approve the minutes of the September 23, 2019
regular meeting. Motion carried with Moore, Mikkelsen, Hughey, and Barron voting aye; Fred Ivie abstained.
Mayor's Report
Motion made by Bob Moore, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to declare the two police Dodge Chargers surplus and
to sell them on GovDeals. Motion carried with all ayes.
Mayor Younger reminded the board about the upcoming Fire Department Fish Fry to begin at 5 PM on October 19.
He also asked the board to approve up to $2,250 for the purchase of candy for the Trunk or Treat to be held on
November 1. Motion made by Fred Ivie, seconded by Bob Moore to approve up to $2,250 for the purchase of
candy for the Trunk or Treat. Motion carried with all ayes.
Department Reports
Acting Assistant Chief Bob Moore asked that Devan Zimmerman be placed back on the fire department. She's
completed her training. Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Tom Mikkelsen to appoint Devan
Zimmerman as a firefighter. Motion carried with all ayes.
Water & Wastewater Superintendent Randy Gregory asked the board to approve up to $3,700.00 for the purchase
of a new sealer for E Coli testing. The current sealer Is over 10 years old. Motion made by Tom Mikkelsen,
seconded by Fred Ivie to approve up to $3,700 for the purchase of the sealer. Motion carried with all ayes.
New Business
Motion made by Bob Moore, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to approve PO 9142 to Wilson County Motors for up
$35,000.00 for Purchase of Police Vehicle Under State Contract. Motion carried with all ayes.
Motion made by Fred Ivie, seconded by Bob Moore to approve up to $3,000.00 so that CAM Electric can repair the
generator at the Industrial Park pumping station. Motion carried with all ayes.
Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Fred Ivie to pay the accounts. Motion carried with all ayes.
Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Michael Barron to adjourn. Motion carried with all ayes.
