Page 79 The City of Dyer Board of Mayor and Alderpersons met in regular session, Monday, October 28, 2019, at 7:09 PM. Those present were Mayor Chris Younger, Alderpersons Ray Carroll, Bob Moore, Fred Ivie, Jennifer Hughey, and Marty Graves. The City Attorney was present. Motion made by Bob Moore, seconded by Fred Ivie to approve the minutes of the October 14, 2019 regular meeting. Motion carried with all ayes. Mayor's Report Mayor Younger said that if there were no objection from the board, Sam Hill, presently working part-time, would continue part-time, 32-40 hours per week, through the fall to help with leaves, etc. There was no objection from the board. MayorYounger notified the board that the City had received the CDBG sewer grant. Department Reports Dyer Fire Chief Brandon Rudd asked the board to approve up to $3,983.25 for the purchase of radio equipment. Mayor Younger said the if board approved the purchase, it wouldn't be ordered until later in the year. Motion made by Bob Moore, seconded by Ray Carroll to purchase up to $3,983.25 in radio equipment for the fire department. Motion carried with all ayes. Chief Rudd also asked the board to approve the purchase of two sets of turnout gear for $5,500.00. Motion made by Ray Carroll, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to approve the purchase. Motion carried with all ayes. The City Recorder presented the September financial report. He also reported that property tax notices had been mailed and some received; tax revenue is beginning to come in. He urged the Board to spread the word about property tax relief. Committee Reports Motion made by Ray Carroll, seconded by Fred Ivie to accept Casey Hall's resignation as a firefighter but to allow him to remain a first responder. Motion carried with all ayes. Mayor Younger said he spoke with Joey Turner about flooring at the community center. He'd like to put down plank vinyl flooring. The cost will be almost the same as was planned. Motion made by Marty Graves, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to authorize the purchase of vinyl flooring and for T&T Floor Coverings to install at a cost of up to $2,100.00. Motion carried with all ayes. New Business Motion made by Ray Carroll, seconded by Fred Ivie to approve PO 9135 to Thompson Machine for $1,372.82 for Backhoe Repair. Motion carried with all ayes. Motion made by Fred Ivie, seconded by Ray Carroll to approve PO 9160 to Stalker Radar for $5,700.00 for 4 Police Radar Units (Buy 3 Get 1 Free). Motion carried with all ayes. Page 80 Motion made by Ray Carroll, seconded by Fred Ivie to cancel the November 11, 2019 regular meeting due to the Veteran's Day Holiday. Motion carried with all ayes. Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Fred Ivie to pay the accounts. Motion carried with all ayes. Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Michael Barren to adjourn.
