Page 30 The City of Dyer Board of Mayor and Alderpersons met in regular session, Monday, April 27, 2020, at 7:05 PM. The meeting was held electronically under the provisions of Governor Bill Lee's Executive Order #16. Public access to the meeting was provided via the Zoom app or by telephone. The final meeting agenda and access information was posted the City of Dyer website on Friday, April 24, 2020, and notice of the meeting with information on public access was posted on the doors of City Hall. Those present at roll call were Mayor Chris Younger, Alderpersons Craig Blackburn, Michael Barron, Ray Carroll, Bob Moore, and Fred Ivie. All members were present electronically. The City Attorney was not present. Motion made by Bob Moore, seconded by Jennifer Hughey that this electronic meeting is necessary to conduct essential business necessary to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Dyer. Motion carried with all ayes. Motion made by Craig Blackburn, seconded by Fred Ivie to approve the minutes of the April 13, 2020 regular meeting, which was held electronically. Motion carried with all ayes. Mayor's Report Mayor Younger reported that PRI had been working on asphalt repair and has fixed some locations. They will return for others. Younger also reported that he had opened the walking track this morning, but asked that walkers be reminded to maintain an adequate social distance. City employees will continue to work alternating schedules through at least May 18. Department Reports Motion made by Craig Blackburn, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to accept the resignation of Firefighter Deavan Zimmerman. Motion carried with all ayes, Motion made by Michael Barron, seconded by Craig Blackburn to accept the resignation of Fire Captain Pat Sawyer. Motion carried with all ayes. Committee Reports Mayor Younger reported that the City has received a state fire equipment grant. Fire Captain Ryan Shanklin said that the funding would pay for approximately 3.5 alrpacks. He also reported that the City of Lexington Fire Department had donated about 20 airpacks with 2 years left on them. The City Recorder has already sent a letter of thanks on behalf of the City.
