The City of Dyer Board of Mayor and Alderpersons met in regular session, Monday, June 22, 2020, at 7:06 PM.
Those present were Mayor Chris Younger, Alderpersons Jennifer Hughey, Bob Moore, Michael Barron, Fred Ivie,
and Tom Mikkelsen. The City Attorney was present.
Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Bob Moore to approve the minutes of the June 8, 2020 regular
meeting, Motion carried with all ayes.
Visitors
Christine Warrington, a candidate in the Republican primary for Tennessee House, and Casey Hood, a candidate in
the Republican primary for Tennessee Senate addressed the Board of Mayor and Aldermen,
Mayor's Report
Mayor Younger reminded the board that the budget hearing and final reading of the 2020-2021 annual budget
would be held on June 30 at 6:00 PM.
Mayor Younger also asked the board if there were any objections to potentially organizing a farmer's market In
Dyer. There were no objections; more information will be provided to the board.
Mayor Younger thanked the Dyer Fire Department for their work at a recent fire.
Department Reports
The City Recorder presented the May 2020 financial reports.
Committee Reports
Mayor Younger said the Fire Department would like to have a set of polo shirts to wear during the 4'^ of July and at
other community events. The cost is estimated to be $750.00 or less. Motion made by Michael Barron, seconded
by Jennifer Hughey. Motion carried with all ayes with Alderman Moore acknowledging the perception of a possible
conflict since he serves as Assistant Chief(without pay).
Unfinished Business
Mayor Younger said that the Dyer Station Celebration Committee still had many activities planned including the
Trivia night at the Fire Department on July 2,
New Business
Motion made by Michael Barron, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to write off delinquent utility accounts totally
$5,528.00 effective June 30 for audit purposes. Motion carried with all ayes.
Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Tom Mikkelsen to approve PO A-5014 to Thompson Machinery for
$1,468.35 for Skidsteer Repair. Motion carried with all ayes.
Motion made by Michael Barron, seconded by Fred Ivie to pay the accounts. Motion carried with all ayes.
Motion made by Michael Barron, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to adjourn. Motion carried with all ayes.
