The City of Dyer Board of Mayor and Alderpersons met in regular session, Monday, October 12, 2020, at 7:14 PM.
Those present were Mayor Chris Younger, Alderpersons Ray Carroll, Craig Blackburn, Bob Moore, Marty Graves,
Tom Mikkelsen, Michael Barron, Jennifer Hughey, and Fred Ivie. The City Attorney was not present.
Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Fred Ivie to approve the minutes of the September 28, 2020
regular meeting. Motion carried with all ayes.
Mayor's Report
Motion made by Michael Barron, seconded by Marty Graves to authorize the continued employment of a seasonal
employee through January 12, 2021. Motion carried with all ayes.
Mayor Younger said that the resident at 205 High Street reported that the city undertook repairs at the edge of the
street near her home some years ago, and that it needed to be cleaned up a bit more. Younger said aldermen may
wish to view It themselves.
Old Business
Aldermen Carroll asked if there had been any feedback on the Board's decision to cancel Trunk or Treat this year.
Mayor Younger said that there had been some online discussion. He also said that the Dyer Fire and Police
Departments would participate in the Gibson County Emergency Communications Center's even on October 24;
the City will purchase some candy to assist with the event.
New Business
Motion made by Ray Carroll, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to approve up to $1,950.00 to American Tank
Maintenance for an ROV inspection of the clear well at the water treatment plant. Motion carried with all ayes.
Motion made by Ray Carroll, seconded by Marty Graves to authorize Mayor Younger to sign a Memorandum of
Understanding with the Gibson County Special School District to employee an SRO at Dyer School; the agreement
provides that the City of Dyer will provide up to $10,000.00 per year in funding. Motion carried with Carroll,
Graves, Hughey, Ivie, Blackburn, Moore, and Barron voting aye; Alderman Mikkelsen voted no.
Motion made by Ray Carroll, seconded by Michael Barron to pay the accounts of October 12, 2020. Motion carried
with all ayes.
Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Craig Blackburn to adjourn. Motion carried with all ayes.
