The City of Dyer Board of Mayor and Alderpersons met in reguiar session, Monday, October 26, 2020, at 7:11 PM.
Those present were Mayor Chris Younger, Alderpersons Ray Carroll, Fred ivie, Michael Barren, Tom Mikkelsen, and
Jennifer Hughey. The City Attorney was not present.
Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Fred Ivie to approve the minutes of the October 12, 2020 regular
meeting. Motion carried with all ayes.
Mayor's Report
Mayor Younger reported that Delta Contracting began milling North and South Main. They will probably mill a
section of College Street as well to ensure the asphalt adheres correctly.
Mayor Younger reported that Public Workers Supervisor Dale Carroll had conducted phone interviews and
recommended the hiring of John Dodd for the public works department. Motion made by Ray Carroll, seconded by
Fred Ivie to hire John Dodd as a regular, full-time employee for $12.50 per hour on a 90 day probationary period
and to increase to $13.00 after successful completion of probation. Motion carried with all ayes.
Mayor Younger informed the board that the Dyer Station Celebration Committee will host the Christmas Parade on
the first Saturday in December.
Department Reports
The City Recorder presented the September financial reports.
New Business
Motion made by Ray Carroll, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to approve PO A-5114 to King Construction for
$1,516.58 for Sand and Gravel. Motion carried with all ayes.
Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Ray Carroll to approve PO A-5104 to American Development Corp
for $1,950.72 for Chemicals. Motion carried with all ayes.
Motion made by Ray Carroll, seconded by Fred Ivie to approve PO A-5115 to King Construction for $1,068.08 for
Gravel. Motion carried with all ayes.
Motion made by Ray Carroll, seconded by Michael Barron to pay the accounts of October 26, 2020. Motion carried
with all ayes.
Motion made by Michael Barron, seconded by Fred Ivie to adjourn. Motion carried with all ayes.
