Page 39 The City of Dyer Board of Mayor and Alderpersons met in a special caiied meeting on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 6:04 PM. Those present were Mayor Raymond E. Carroil, Alderpersons Bob Moore, Tom MIkkelsen, Fred Ivie, Cralg Blackburn, Michael Barron, and Jennifer Hughey, The City Attorney was not present. The purpose of the meeting was: 1. To Consider Hiring a Regular, Full-Time Employee in the Public Works / Street Department Mayor Carroii asked Street Supervisor Dale Carroll to present his information on Johnny Kimbro to the board. Supervisor Carroll outlined Kimbro's experience and his desire to change careers. Kimbro's work history demonstrates consistency, and Carroil said Kimbro was eager to learn all parts of a new job, including operating heavy equipment. Kimbro lives outside Kenton and can easily be on call and respond in a timely matter. Board members were encouraged that Kimbro wants to give his current employer a two-week notice, as this demonstrates responsibility. Motion made by Tom MIkkelsen, seconded by Bob Moore to hire Johnny Kimbro as a regular, full-time employee in the Street / Public Works Department at $12.00 per hour with an increase to $12.65 per after successful completion of a 90 day probationary period. Motion carried with all ayes. Supervisor Carroll said that based on the current schedule, Kimbro should begin work on June 2. With no other business properly before the board, motion made by Craig Blackburn, seconded by Fred Ivie that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried with all ayes. Nathan Reed, City Recorder
