The City of Dyer Board of Mayor and Alderpersons met in regular session, Monday, May 24, 2021, at 7:00 PM.
Those present were Mayor Ray Carroll, Alderpersons Bob Moore, Jennifer Hughey, Fred ivie, Michael Barron, Tom
MIkkelsen, and Marty Graves. The City Attorney was present.
Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Fred Ivie to approve the minutes of the May 10, 2021 regular
meeting. Motion carried with all ayes.
Motion made by Fred Ivie, seconded by Tom MIkkelsen to approve the minutes of the May 20, 2021 special called
meeting. Motion carried with all ayes.
Department Reports
Dyer Police Chief Brad Lindsey reported that the department had acquired Guardian Angel high visibility lights for
officers; the lights will be paid for through the Tennessee Highway Safety Office.
The City Recorder presented the April 2021 financial reports.
Public Works Supervisor Dale Carroll reported that work had begun cleaning out the filters at the water treatment
plant. They hoped to finish this week.
Unfinished Business
Alderman Barron asked about how the dumping at the David Robinson Recreation Park dumpster might be
controlled or monitored.
Public Works Supervisor Dale Carroll reported that he had inspected a dip near the intersection of Elm and College
Streets. They placed some cold-patch there, but will continue to monitor.
Alderman Ivie asked Carroll to check a possible drainage issue on Lee Street.
New Business
Motion made by Fred Ivie, seconded by Marty Graves to purchase a mower from Hill's Repair Shop for $12,00.00
under the bid received in September, 2020. Motion carried with all ayes.
Motion made by Marty Graves, seconded by Fred Ivie to adopt Board Motion 2021-002 concerning part-time
public safety bonus payments. Motion carried with all ayes.
Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Fred Ivie to pay the accounts of May 24, 2021. Motion carried with
all ayes.
Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Fred Ivie to adjourn. Motion carried with all ayes.
