Page 63 The City of Dyer Board of Mayor and Alderpersons met in regular session, Monday, August 9, 2021, at 7:01 PM. Those present were Mayor Ray Carroll, Alderpersons Bob Moore, Jennifer Hughey, Tom MIkkelsen, Craig Blackburn, Michael Barren, and Fred Ivie. The City Attorney was present. Motion made by Bob Moore, seconded by Craig Blackburn to approve the minutes of the July 26, 2021 regular meeting. Mayor's Report Mayor Carroll announced that Red Rooster Bedding / Smith Creek had completed the purchase of industrial property in the Dyer Industrial Park and will be moving part of their operation to Dyer in the near future. Mayor Carroll said additional information would be provided as the project continues to develop; he looks forward to a long and meaningful relationship with them. The project will provide employment and tax revenue for our community. Mayor Carroll reported that the process of selecting a new alderperson is continuing; a few applications have been picked up and one has been submitted. Committee Reports Parks & Public Spaces Committee Chair Jennifer Hughey reported that volunteers are continuing to work on keeping the park neat and presentable. Some cleanup will be done on Wednesday at about 3:00, Alderman Mikkelsen expressed concern that some additional patrolling may need to be done in the park area. Unfinished Business Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Bob Moore to pass on its second and final reading Ordinance 2021- 269, an ordinance to establish a charge for false emergency alarms which were not caused by a violent act of nature. Motion carried with all ayes. Motion made by Craig Blackburn, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to pass on its second and final reading Ordinance 2021-266, an Ordinance to Adopt the 2018 Editions of the International Building Code, International Residential Code, International Plumbing, Mechanical, and Fire Code. Motion carried with all ayes. New Business Motion made by Marty Graves, seconded by Fred Ivie to approve PC A-5351 to Hawkins, Inc. for $1,816.12 for Water & Wastewater Chemicals. Motion carried with all ayes. Motion made by Fred Ivie, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to approve up to $4,400.00 to Jones Chevrolet for Police Tahoe Repair. Motion carried with all ayes. Motion made by Craig Blackburn, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to pay the accounts of August 9, 2021. Motion carried with all ayes. Motion mad^y Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Fred Ivie to adjourn.
