Page 87 The City of Dyer Board of Mayor and Alderpersons met in regular session, Monday, November 8, 2021, at 7:01 PM, Those present were Mayor Ray Carroll, Alderpersons Craig Blackburn, Bob Moore, Bett Jewell, Michael Barren, Tom MIkkelsen, Jennifer Hughey, and Fred Ivie. The City Attorney was present. Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Bob Moore to approve the minutes of the October 25, 2021 regular meeting. Motion carried with all ayes. Mayor's Report Mayor Carroll thanked everyone who helped with the Trunk or Treat. The event was well attended. Mayor Carroll extended the condolences of the City of Dyer and the Board of Aldermen to Chief Brad Lindsey and City Attorney Jeff Smith on the recent deaths in their families. Motion made by Fred Ivie, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to hire Tim McGarity as a regular, full-time patrolman, Motion carried with all ayes. Mayor Carroll reported that bids had been received for a service truck for the street department. Motion made by Fried Ivie, seconded by Bob Moore to accept all bids. Motion carried with all ayes. Motion made by Fred Ivie, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to award the truck bid to Freeiand Automotive for $51,200.00. Motion carried with all ayes. ' Department Reports Dyer Fire Chief Brandon Rudd reported that Tim Hill has resigned from the fire department. Motion made by Craig Blackburn, seconded by Bob Moore to accept Hill's resignation. Motion carried with all ayes. The City Recorder said that tax notices had been mailed, and that many have been received. He also urged those present to continue spreading the word about tax relief. New Business Motion made by Bob Moore, seconded by Fried Ivie to approve PO A-5426 to Lee's Garage for $2,225.00 for Annual Service on Fire Apparatus (Trucks). Motion carried with all ayes. Alderman Jennifer Hughey asked if the City might want to consider an artificial tree for the Georgia Mcllwain Ellis Mini-Park this year. Street Supervisor Dale Carroll will check on an artificial tree, possibly pre-lit. Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Craig Blackburn to pay the accounts. Motion carried with all ayes.
