Page 23 The City of Dyer Board of Mayor and Alderpersons met in regular session, Monday, March 13, 2023 at 7:04 PM. Those present were Mayor Chris Younger, Alderpersons Bob Moore, Mike Needham, Tom Mikkelsen, Jennifer Hughey, Michael Barron, Craig Blackburn, and Marty Graves. The City Attorney was not present. Motion made by Jennifer Hughey, seconded by Bob Moore to approve the minutes of the February 27, 2023 regular meeting. Motion carried with all ayes. Department Reports Dyer Fire Chief Brandon Rudd said that firefighter Jayson Fernandez has resigned. Motion made by Marty Graves, seconded by Craig Blackburn t o accept Fernandez's resignation; motion carried with all ayes. Chief Rudd said that the Fire Department had received a grant from the Gary Sinese Foundation for approximately $14,000.00 which will provide a combination spreader-cutter. The equipment has been ordered. Committee Reports Mayor Younger said the Finance Committee will meet on Thursday evening following the already scheduled Fire Committee meeting. The City Recorder reported that the solicitation for well repair bids is being prepared; the specifications are almost done. Street Supervisor Dale Carroll said that Mr. Hinson will be looking at the Eagle Building for siding options this week. Aiderman Michael Barron commended the fire department and others who have been working to get the park ready for ball season. New Business Motion made by Marty Graves, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to adopt Resolution 2023-333, a Resolution Adopting the Americans with Disabilities Act Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan. Motion carried with all ayes. Motion made by Mary Graves, seconded by Craig Blackburn to approve PO A-5987 to Rabows for $2,000.00 for pumping at the South Main lift station. Motion carried with all ayes. Aiderman Bob Moore asked about the status of the CDBG Grant. Mayor Younger said that the city was not selected for the most recent round of grants, but that this would be a topic of discussion at the upcoming Finance Committee meeting. Motion made by Michael Barron, seconded by Jennifer Hughey to pay the accounts. Motion carried with all ayes. Motion made by Michael Barron, seconded by Marty Graves to adjourn.
