City of Dyersburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen Monday, July 17, 2023 1. Call to Order: The Board of Mayor and Aldermen convened for a scheduled meeting on Monday, July 17, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. in the Dyersburg Municipal Court Room. Mayor John Holden called the meeting to order. All members were present with the exception of Edward Burks, Willie Cole and Rick Hammond. Others present were William Northcutt, Steve Anderson and Chief Steve Isbell. The meeting opened with The Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer by Alderman Rick Crawford 2. Approval of Minutes: Mayor John Holden called for a motion to approve the minutes from the June 30, 2023 meeting. Alderman Baltimore made a motion to approve the minutes and Alderman Crawford seconded the motion. All voted in favor. 3. Unfinished Business: None 4. New Business: A. Resolution 07172023 A resolution regarding Public Chapter No. 300 which requires that governing bodies reserve a period for public comment at any board or committee meeting of the City of Dyersburg. Alderman Harrison made the motion to approve the resolution and Alderman Baltimore seconded the motion. All voted in favor. B. Dyersburg Police Department – Chief Steve Isbell Dyersburg Police Chief Steve Isbell gave an update on the service calls for the 4th of July holiday week. He also stated that the Dyersburg Police Department had received various grants. The Violent Crime Intervention Fund Collaborative Grant for the Regional/Multijurisdictional partnership includes the Dyersburg Police Department, Ripley Police Department, Halls Police Department, Troy Police Department, Union City Police Department, and the South Fulton Police Department. Working together, these agencies were awarded $1,270,945 in Tennessee grant funds, that would improve their ability to monitor area roads and local events. Chief Isbell concluded with the news that the Dyersburg Police Department CALEA accreditation had taken place and the assessors were pleased with the department and anticipated a positive recommendation. Department: Codes Department / E.O.C. Item: MyGov Annual Software Maintenance Purpose: Software subscription for 311 service Budgeted: Yes Notification – None – Proprietary Product Bid awarded to MyGov, Ada, OK, $24,600.00. REPORT FROM ALDERMEN AND ALDERWOMEN: James Baltimore: Aldermen Baltimore thanked the Dyersburg Police Department for their due diligence while on the job. He also questioned the state of homeless people in Dyersburg.
