City of Dyersburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen October 16, 2023 1. Call to Order: The Board of Mayor and Aldermen convened for a scheduled meeting on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. in the Dyersburg Municipal Court Room. Mayor John Holden called the meeting to order. All members were present except Alderman Harrison. Others present were William Northcutt, Chief of Police, Steve Isbell and City of Dyersburg Treasurer Steve Anderson. The meeting opened with The Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer by Alderwoman Webb. 2. Public Comment: None 3. Approval of Minutes: Mayor John Holden called for a motion to approve the minutes from the October 2, 2023 meeting. Alderman Cole made a motion to approve the minutes and Alderman Crawford seconded the motion. All voted in favor. 4. Unfinished Business: None 5. New Business: A. Public Hearing – Beer Permit 1. Gordon Express, 100 Gordon Street Amarjit Chaundry Chief of Police, Steve Isbell, stated that all application material had been vetted and reviewed by city and police department staff. Chief Isbell recommended approval of the permit. Mayor Holden called for a motion to approve the permit. Alderwoman Webb made the motion to approve and Aldermen Burks seconded the motion. Mayor Holden then asked for public comment, no public comments given. All voted in favor with the exception of Alderman Rick Crawford who abstained from the vote. 2. KC’s One Stop, 1012 US Hwy 51 Keval B. Patel Chief of Police, Steve Isbell, stated that all application material had been vetted and reviewed by city and police department staff. Chief Isbell recommended approval of the permit. Mayor Holden called for a motion to approve the permit. Alderwoman Webb made the motion to approve and Aldermen Hammond seconded the motion. Mayor Holden then asked for public comment, no public comments given. All voted in favor with the exception of Alderman Rick Crawford who abstained from the vote. B. Bids – Greg Williams 1. Department: Solid Waste - Landfill Item: Repair of planetary gears in dirt pan tractor Purpose: Maintain cover dirt for landfill Budgeted: Repair & maintenance item Notification – None – Dealer repair Bids: H & R Agri-Power $21,653.05 Awarded bid to H & R Agri-Power, Newbern, TN, $21,653.05. REPORT FROM ALDERMEN AND ALDERWOMEN: James Baltimore: Alderman Baltimore noted all the volunteers and community support that was had for a successful Community Cancer BBQ. Edward Burks: Alderman Burks thanked everyone who participated and supported the Bicentennial celebration and noted that Dyersburg’s Bicentennial will be in 2025. Willie Cole: Alderman Cole congratulated the Bicentennial Celebration on a successful event. Rick Crawford: Alderman Crawford thanked everyone who helped with the Community Cancer BBQ. Ricky Hammond: No report Joey Harrison: Dennis Moody:. Alderman Moody thanked the city for paving on Sampson Avenue. Vanedda Webb: No report COMMUNICATION FROM THE MAYOR: Mayor Holden thanked everyone for a weekend of successful events. Mayor Holden also took the opportunity to remind everyone that County Fire Protection was available to all County residents.
