City of Dyersburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen November 4, 2024 1. Call to Order: The Board of Mayor and Aldermen convened for a scheduled meeting on Monday, November 4, at 7:00 p.m. in the Dyersburg Municipal Court Room. Mayor John Holden called the meeting to order. All members were present with the exception of Alderman Cole. Others attending were City Treasurer Steve Anderson and William Northcutt with the State Gazette The meeting opened with The Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer by Alderman Hammond. 2. Public Comment : none 3. Approval of Minutes: Mayor Holden called for a motion to approve the minutes from the October 21, 2024 meeting. Alderwoman Webb made a motion to approve the minutes and Alderman Crawford seconded the motion. All voted in favor. 4. Unfinished Business: none 5. New Business: A. Public Hearing-Ordinance BB717 An ordinance amending the Dyersburg Municipal Zoning Map by rezoning property located at 1404 Hwy 51 Bypass (NE Corner of Hey 51 and Pioneer) from P-B (planned business) to M-2 (Medium Industrial). Mayor Holden called for a motion to approve. Alderman Baltimore made the motion to approve and Alderman Harrison seconded the motion. Mayor Holden asked if there was anyone wishing to speak to this, no public comments. All voted in favor. B. Bids – Debbie Harris 1. Department: City Hall Item: Carpet & Vinyl Tile Upstairs at City Hall Purpose: Replace worn out carpet in hallway and offices upstairs Budgeted: No – Repairs and Maintenance Notification – State Gazette Bids: Lane Flooring $17,900.00 McCormack Flooring $17,250.64 Premier Flooring $16,400.00 Bid to be Awarded to Premier Flooring, Dyersburg, TN - $16,400.00 Mayor Holden called for a motion to approve. Alderman Hammond made the motion to approve and Alderman Baltimore seconded the motion. All voted in favor. REPORT FROM ALDERMEN AND ALDERWOMEN: James Baltimore: no report Edward Burks: Alderman Burks questioned if the state would still help with the tire removal on Bowen Lane. Mayor Holden stated that yes, they would and that bids would be going out soon for removal prices. Alderman Burks also questioned when paving would start and was told after the new year. Willie Cole: not present Rick Crawford: no report Ricky Hammond: Alderman Hammond stated that citizens should be kept apprised of any new paving and also asked about the progress of the new Jennie Bell Walking Trail which is nearing completion. Joey Harrison: no report Dennis Moody: no report Vanedda Webb: Alderwoman Webb recognized and thanked the Rides 4 Rugrats organization and the successful even they hosted. COMMUNICATION FROM THE MAYOR: Mayor Holden noted that all city offices would be closed for the observance of Veteran’s Day on Monday, November 11. Mayor Holden also stated that garbage collection would run one day behind due to the holiday. He also noted that the Veteran’s Parade would begin Monday, at 10:30am with the Veteran’s Program taking place at 11:00am.
