MINUTES Village of East Troy Airport Advisory Committee January 9, 2017 1. Call to order – Meeting called to order at 7:00pm by Ann Zess Present – Ann Zess, Chairperson, Walter Watkins, Airport Manager/FBO, Don Voland, Sam Taber, Jim Stemper Excused: Mike Starck Also Present: Dale Graves, Charlie Christiansen, Matt Rybarczyk, Kim Weckerly, & Alex Alger 2. Citizen Participation – None 3. November 14, 2016 Minutes were approved by the committee on a motion by Don Voland and seconded by Jim Stemper 4. Old Business: a. Status of 2017 taxiway asphalt project b. Operations at 57C – Counting operations –Table further discussion for Mike, or until it warms up. 5. New Business: a. YTD Rev/Expense report through November – Walter has some questions for Stephanie about categories and will call her at the Village Hall. Talked about the electric trend, which continues to increase. Strobe lights are staying on longer than expected which may be related to a new controller. Walter will check. b. North Gate controls – Frequent issues with the gate breaking down were discussed. The controller is in the Airport capital budget to be replaced for 2017. Walter will schedule this work, together with Jason Equitz, to be complete in conjunction with the asphalt project. c. Emergency Planning at 57C – The committee had a long discussion regarding the creation of an emergency response plan put together in cooperation with Emergency Services and the Village Chief. Information regarding emergency planning at small airports was distributed from the Bureau of Aeronautics and the DOT. The goal would be to start on the components of the plan and work this year, and to have meetings and exercises, on a yearly basis with EMS and Police to go over certain scenarios of an accident at the airport. The goal is to develop a plan outlining the proper and safe response as well as to avoid any unintended secondary accidents. Alex Alger suggested an EMS designee sit on the committee, and/or voluntarily attend Airport Committee meetings to be part of regular airport discussions. The idea of signage for taxiways and runways was also discussed.
