Standing and Old Business
1. Airport Manager’s Report
Doug Gauger presented the Airport Manager’s report.
Volunteers from East Troy Fire and Rescue participated in an onsite training session
organized by Doug Gauger and Sam Taber. The training was held immediately before
the AAC meeting.
Doug reported that he was beginning to switch to winter maintenance projects
including T-hanger repair, FBO repairs, and tree trimming.
2. Courtesy Car
Obtaining a courtesy car is proving to be more challenging than anticipated. Until other
arrangements can be made contact information for a private taxy service will continue
to be posted in the FBO.
3. Grass Runway Maintenance
Doug reported that he hopes to get a few loads of topsoil and grass seed on the runway
yet this fall. The grass runway generally closes when the snow starts to fall. One
consideration for this year is to close the runway for the season on November 1st for turf
maintenance.
4. Kim Weckerly reported that the AAC review committee is nearly finished with their
review of the draft ordinances. Once the ordinances have been updated the committee
will begin reviewing the covenants.
5. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles Event
Kim and Doug met with Venessa Lenz, Executive Director of the East Troy Area Chamber
of Commerce to discuss an event at the airport in August 2024. The purpose of the
event would be to promote the airport. It was suggested that the Lions Club or Fire
Department may be willing to manage the pancake breakfast and the Friends of the East
Troy Airport could manage event parking. Kim shared that the Friends are schedule to
meet on October 24th and will discuss their role in organizing the event.
6. Airport Layout Plan and Master Plan
Jason Equitz shared that the airport layout plan and master plan are still at the Bureau
of Aeronautics for their review.

designing hangers in late 2024 with construction beginning in 2025.
