MINUTES VILLAGE OF EAST TROY AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMITTEE March 11, 2024 Page 1 of 2 Call Meeting to Order Roll Call: Chairperson Holm called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Present: Doug Gauger, Jim Holm, JD Schreib, Mike Starck, and Mike Zei Others: Dale Graves, Sam Taber, and Sharon Taber Excused: Kim Weckerly Citizen Participation Per Village Resolution 2017-01, anyone wishing to address the Airport Advisory Committee during Citizen Participation will be allowed 5 minutes. Your subject must specifically relate to matters under the jurisdiction of the Airport Advisory Committee, whether on the agenda or not. The Airport Advisory Committee should not engage in a discussion regarding comments because it was not part of the publicly noticed agenda. Upon conclusion of this Citizen Participation segment, members of the audience are not allowed further comment unless they are participating in a public hearing or if specifically allowed by a majority vote of the Airport Advisory Committee due to involvement in an agenda item. Sam Taber questioned the frequency of having fire inspections. He opined that once per year should be adequate. He also reported that the north gate is now “working wonderfully.” The question was raised about whether vehicles should be allowed to park on the leased property next to the hanger. Temporary parking next to the hanger is currently a widespread practice. This would not be overnight parking, only short-term parking when actively involved in airport activities. Approval of Minutes  A motion to approve the February 12, 2024, meeting minutes was made by Mike Zei and seconded by Mike Starck. The motion passed unanimously. Standing and Old Business 1. Airport Manager’s Report • Doug is clearing out fence rows, culverts, brush, and tree stumps. • The north gate radio has been replaced and is working well. • Interior paint for the FBO has been purchased. • T-hanger doors are being replaced as time permits. • Two poles for the security cameras have been installed by the gates. • Two security cameras have been installed in the FBO: one facing the interior and the other the fuel farm. • A new fuel probe has been ordered for the low lead tank. • Our fuel pricing is consistent with the Burlington Municipal Airport. • Plans are in place to roll the grass runway within the next week or two. • Doug will investigate the possibility of short-term parking adjacent to the hangers. 2. Ordinance Review Jason Equitz provided the second draft of the ordinances, prepared by Attorney Pruitt, with Kim Weckerly. Kim has shared the document with the AAC subcommittee. The AAC subcommittee plans to meet to discuss the ordinances in the coming weeks. 3. Airport Event Jim Holm reported that Jason Equitz had confirmed that a special event held at the airport would be managed like an event held on the Village Square. FETA would need to complete the special event permit form and satisfy the insurance requirements laid out in the ordinance. Food trucks would also need to have a permit and event insurance. 4. Airport Layout Plan, Master Plan, and Planning Advisory Committee Volunteers have been identified for the Planning Advisory Committee. The Committee will begin its work in April. New Business None Adjourn:  Motion to adjourn was made by Mike Starck and seconded by JD Schreib. The motion passed unanimously at 8:10 PM. Next Meeting: 5/13/2024 at 6:00 PM at the FBO.
