New Business
1. Discussion related to pending matters items related to marketing and potential direction
to staff
President Johnson explained he views the items on the pending matters list falling within
two different categories, content and signage. The content would be items like the website,
branding, and brochures. He elaborated he did not believe the intent would be to find
somebody to manage marketing or the website, but rather generate some base content in a
fashion so staff can maintain it. Looking at what other communities are doing and what is
working well was also discussed. Issuing a request for qualifications (RFQ) and selecting
firms for the CDA to interview was the consensus. Also discussed this may be an opportunity
for somebody from the Chamber to participate and ensure what we are doing is cohesive
with the Chamber of Commerce’s efforts.
The 125th anniversary recognition for the Village was also discussed along with plans to
recognize the anniversary with banners, staff/elected official shirts, possible participation in
a summer event on the square, and possible inclusion of the historical society in that event.
It was also suggested that it could somehow be recognized at a concert on a square during
the summer months.
Old Business

Executive Director Suhm reviewed the memo provided to the CDA. The preferred location
for the second sign was identified by the CDA as across Main Street (Hwy ES) at the
intersection of Townline Road in front of the prior Associated Bank building. Also discussed
including the categories of Village Square, restaurants/shops, and museums on the
directional signage. Including mileage to the square was also discussed for the sign at the
