1516 Rucker Ave Design Review
The commission conducted a design review of a proposed addition and associated site improvements at
1516 Rucker Avenue. The applicant proposes to construct an attached two-car garage on the basement
level and convert a portion of the existing basement to an accessory dwelling unit. On the first floor, a
220 square foot addition is proposed that would expand the existing kitchen. The kitchen addition would
open onto a 400 square foot partially covered deck above the garage addition. On the south side of the
addition, a new concrete walkway and stairs would provide exterior access to the first-floor deck from the
driveway area. On the second floor, a 340 square foot roof deck is proposed above the kitchen and
covered deck addition below. The proposed additions would all be located at the rear of the residence.
The commission discussed the project and Commissioner Tucker made a motion to accept the design as
presented, seconded by Commissioner Fox. It was approved unanimously. There were no citizen
