June 2023 Citizens Advisory Committee on Transportation Meeting Minutes 1) Virtual Meeting is called to order at 7:00 p.m. 2) Administration a. Roll call a. Erin Kampschroer (Chair) – Present b. Public: Jon Ward, Elisabeth Somerville b. Agenda adopted c. Review of May Minutes d. Announced of Vice Chair Jason Garman’s resignation due to an upcoming move outside of the jurisdiction. 3) Public Comment a) None 4) Community Energy Action Plan a) Presentation by Andy Young on ongoing development of the Community Energy Action Plan. b) Discussion of different strategies involving transportation such as: increasing hybrid and electric cars, shared bike and scooter programs, sidewalks, bike lanes, and other bike ped infrastructure, public transit accessibility and effectiveness, possible transition to a golf cart community. Additional discussion on increasing greenery. 5) Greenway Downs Vote a) Presentation from staff on vote procedure and results. b) Discussion of schedule for projects next steps. 6) NTC Monthly Update a) Brief update on the status of ongoing pause. b) Concerns over pause’s duration and timeframe for resuming cases. Some explanation from staff as to ongoing staffing changes and other mitigating factors. c) New format of tracking priorities shared. 7) Committee Member Roundtable The City of Falls Church is committed to the letter and spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
