PURPOSE OF MEETING: To advise the City Council on human services delivery to Falls
Church citizens.

APPROVAL of MINUTES: The minutes from the January 23, 2023 meeting were approved.
NEW BUSINESS:
Community Services Fund Recommendations for Fiscal Year 2024
Commission members reviewed their individual notes, from the January 23 applicant
presentations, and shared their funding recommendations during the meeting. After group
discussion and consensus building, the group provided to their funding recommendations for all
CSF applicants to Staff Ripal Patel. He entered this information into an excel spreadsheet. All
available funds ($86,277) were designated and the group decided to advocate for additional
funding. This is because with the additional new applicants and the limited amount of funding,
all requests were not able to be met. If this additional funding comes to fruition, then the HSAC
will decide how these would be dispersed at a future meeting.

HSAC Meeting Procedures
Staff Jones provide historical documents to the members regarding membership and the code for
the Commission. The telecommuting policy was also distributed.
Items for March Agenda
Chair Roth shared that the following items have been brought up in past meetings and will be
discussed at the March meeting. They include:
a. HSAC Annual Report
b. Community Service Board Report
c. Marcus Alert Update
d. AARP Age Friendly Communities
e. Community Services Fund - Process Recommendations for Future
The meeting was adjourned at 8:24 p.m.

All comments will be provided to the Human Services Advisory Council members and comments
received by the deadline will be read during the meeting.
