Forty Fort Borough Council Meeting Monday July 6, 2021 Call to order Gavel strike of President of Council Thomas Murray called tonight’s meeting to order. Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag Mayor Andy Tuzinski lead the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call President Thomas Murray ordered a roll call. Members in attendance were President Thomas Murray, Vice President Cara Devine, Phil Mertz, Frank Mazza, Jeffrey McLaughlin, Kristy Dadurka, Dave Sieminski, Borough Manager Bonnie Arnone, Borough Mayor Andy Tuzinski, Police Chief Dan Hunsinger, Borough Secretary Michele Pascarella, DPW Supervisor Rick Kamus and Code Officer Thomas Craig. There were 5 visitors in attendance. Public Comments Debbie Williams from Shear Tease 1620 Wyoming Avenue asked Council if they have heard anything from Penn Dot concerning the painted lines in front of her business. She stated many vehicles have been hit at this location (police reports have been filed on these incidents) and now one of her clients has been struck. She stated she has contacted the Mayor, Penn Dot, and the State Representative. Council President Thomas Murray stated that Forty Fort Manager Bonnie Arnone will send another correspondence to Penn Dot stating that someone has now been struck not just vehicles. Consent Agenda Matters listed with the consent agenda have been referred to members of the Borough Council for reading and study, are routine and will be enacted by one motion of Council. If separate discussion is desired, the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda by Council action. The resolutions listed below are submitted by Borough Council for the review and will be adopted by one motion. These items have been presented to the council at the prior month’s work session for review. Motion to approve and/or accept the following consent agenda items: • 5/17/2021 Council work session minutes • 6/7/2021 Council Meeting Minutes • 5/24/2021 DPW committee meeting minutes • May 2021 Code Office Report • May 2021 Kingston Fire Chief Report • May 2021 FF Fire Chief Report • May 2021 Forty Fort Police Chief Report • May 2021 Treasure’s Report • May 2021 Manager’s Time Sheets • May 2021 Tax Collector Report Motion was made by Dave Sieminski and seconded by Cara Devine. All were in favor, motion passed. Correspondence Dotty Martin thank you letter FEMA Flood Map updates 7.2.2021 FEMA update Council Action Items A motion was made by Dave Sieminski of payment of all bills as presented and seconded by Kristy Dadurka. All were in favor. Motion passed. Jeffrey McLaughlin abstained from payment of GBM. Act as Grantee for Koral RAC Grant- Attorney Falcone will pe present at the next meeting to discuss. Resolution 11 of 2021 (discussion only) New Business Letters of interest for Solicitor Atty. Gene Molino Atty. Joseph Van Jura Atty. Jonathan Spohrer A committee was formed with members consisting of Council Vice President Cara Devine, Phil Mertz, Council President Thomas Murray, and Bonnie Arnone which will meet on Wednesday July 14, 2021. Fire Engine returning to Forty Fort Remarks from Chief Guido Before the return of the firetruck DPW Supervisor Rick Kamus will make sure everything is working properly in the new Fire Office. (Emergency system and internet) Non Uniform Pension Plan Review MTR request for meeting Jacobi Capital request for meeting A meeting will be set up with Joe Scott and Karen Darby to brief the Financial Committee. DPW’s contract and Rick Kamus’ contract will end at the end of 2021. New Refrigerator needed for pool- One of the refrigerators was taken from the DPW garage until plans are finalized on the building of the new snack bar. LCCC request to set up table near basketball court in park-All council was in favor Old Business Rebecca Mattern interest in vacancy on Zoning Hearing Board John Vitanovec interest in vacancy on Zoning Hearing Board Executive Session Personnel issue for Fire Personnel Meeting was adjourned at 6:58 pm to an Executive Session.
