Finance Committee Meeting Agenda

FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING August 12, 2025 – 3:00 PM Council Chambers, 42 N. Main Street Minutes prepared by: Barb Schmidtknecht The meeting was called to order at 3:00 pm by Barb Schmidtknecht. Roll call: Chris Williamson, Stephen Qualy, Barb Schmidtknecht all present. Others present: Mayor Ben Adank, Marcia Larson, Michele Klein. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Motion Chris, second Stephen to approve the minutes of the June 9, 2025 Finance Committee meeting. Motion carried and minutes were approved. Review of the recycling program cost continued. Revenue from the recycling fees and garbage bag sales does not cover the cost of the program. It may be revisited after reviewing the impact of the garbage bag increase. The updated assigned funds document was reviewed. Flexible facilities program and public works projects funding discussions will continue. Information on loan possibilities and the impact of the levy will be taken into consideration. The referendum for the fire association is satisfied. The first draft of the 2026 general budget was reviewed. Additional information will be gathered from various committees that may impact the budget draft. The budget hearing will be scheduled prior to the November 12 regular council meeting. Publication will appear in appropriate places October 23. It was agreed to amend the general budget at the December council meeting if needed. Motion to adjourn by Chris, second Barb. Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 5:43 pm.
