Public Works / Streets / Recycling Commi ee Oct 28,2025 – 4:00 pm Minutes prepared by: Peter Scha ner The mee ng was called to order at 4:00 pm by Peter Scha ner. Roll call: Peter Scha ner Barb Schmidtknecht, Absent David Endres. Others present: Mayor Ben Adank, Gill Adams, Je Puterbaugh, Travis Williamson, Brady Abramson the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Ci zens spoke out against closing Jus n Street. The city is just star ng to research street closings. The public will be kept informed. Mo on Barb, second David to approve the minutes of the August 26, 2025, mee ng. Mo on carried and the minutes were approved. Mo on Barb second David to forward a recommenda on to the council to close the recycling center as of December 20, 2025. Mo on carried. Our current recycling center employee will not return next year. Residents can take items to the County recycling center in Cochrane. Sand Hauling fees discussion, Commi ee will recommend an ordinance be developed to cover sand hauling at $10.00 a truck load. Enforcement will be by camara. Gil is looking into camara op ons. Discussion about abandoning Truman Street and Jus n Hill Street. This is a lengthy process and we have just started. Repair water run o on main street from artesian well near Cat Tails. Gil will meet with homeowner. Homeowners will be allowed to discharge water into the city sewage line for winter months. Will con nue to collaborate with homeowners to nd a permanent solu on in spring. Parking spaces and cross walk on Hill Street. Contractor will fix. 24-hour parking on designated streets, Meant to be 4-hour parking in areas on the south side of town. Need to be incorporated into the parking ordinance. Parking of trailers on City Streets. Need to be incorporated into the parking ordinance. Water and Sewer connections along highway 35. Confirmed all lots on Highway 35 have water and sewer connections prior to new road surface installation. Large item recycling pickup. Will consider and schedule as needed. REU audit for Bager Agency and Car Wash: Mo on David second Barb to forward a recommenda on to the council to set the REU values for the Badger Agency at one and the Car Wash at six. Emergency Operation Plan Members will take home and review. Changes to recycling program due to DNR requirements. New requirements to educate the public on batteries. Information is free from the state, and we will send out with the tax bills. LRIP Grant. Michele will work with Gil to complete. Motion Peter, second David to adjourn, Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 6:05 pm.
