BOH MEETING MINUTES
December 4, 2024
In attendance: Jeff Harris, Vice Chair, Kim Mu-Chow, Member; Cathleen Liberty, Director; Ginny
McNeil, Health Agent; Alicia Sullivan; Public Health Nurse
Guests: Steve Sherlock (via Google Meet)
CALL TO ORDER: ► Vice Chair Harris called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: ►November 6, 2024.
►MOTION to Approve the November 6, 2024 meeting minutes with amendment to correct the
spelling of the last name Mu-Chow, Mu-Chow. SECOND by Harris. No discussion. ►ROLL CALL
VOTE: Mu-Chow-YES; Harris-YES►VOTE: Yes-2, No-0.
NEW BUSINESS
Board of Health meeting dates for 2025
MOTION to approve the meeting dates, with July and August dates being optional pending board
of health business. Mu-Chow SECOND by Harris. ROLL CALL Vote: Mu-Chow YES, Harris,
YES and Sweet, YES. VOTE: Yes-3, No-0.
American Heart Association discussion
Director Liberty noted that the library and the health department has partnered with the AMA to have a
self monitoring blood pressure table at the library along with five blood pressure kits for the Library of
Things to be checked out by the library patrons.The update is that the contract is being worked on.
427 Oakland Parkway condemnation discussion
Director Liberty noted that November 2023 she did an emergency condemnation on this property and
there was a fire in late August, early September and to date no work has been done to bring the dwelling
into compliance. Under 105 410.650 (G) the board has the authority to raze the dwelling. Director Liberty
is not looking for a vote and plans on meeting the Attorney General’s office at the dwelling in December
to try to get a receiver to raze the dwelling. She will provide them with an update in January.
Metacomet Shared Service Grant Inspector Update
Director Liberty noted that Kerry was on an inspection but her report was in the board of health packet.
Metacomet Public Health Nurse Update
The public health nurse gave her monthly update as well.
