C. Riverfront Park – Commissioner Kroko reported that the Riverfront
Task Force met last night. WW Webb has been selected as the design

New Business: None
VII. Commission Concerns and Topics:
Commissioner Tepaske asked if we could get an enlarged map of the
City to use during the Commission meetings. Dr. Antozzi agreed.
Commissioner Tyler asked if Parks and Recreation gave approval for
organizations to place small signs around the tennis courts. The signs
at the tennis courts are advertising a tennis tournament at the Country
Club. Dr. Antozzi stated that he would check to see if they received
permission.
Commissioner Kroko stated that he had three items to discuss. First,
there was a letter to the editor in The Free-Lance Star praising the
expansion of the Farmer’s Market and that it should be scheduled more
than once a year. It is obvious that the person did not know that it is
scheduled several times throughout Farmer’s Market season. Dr.
Antozzi did not feel that a response was needed. Secondly, are we
any closer to naming the pool? Dr. Antozzi reported that we are getting
closer. Lastly, he recommended that Parks and Recreation staff take a
moment to google “WaterFire”. Commissioner Kroko stated that in his
hometown, Sharon, PA., they have a 3-day European Festival and the
revenue and people it brings in is phenomenal. Thousands of people
attend. Riverfront Park would be a great place to hold the festival in
Fredericksburg. Dr. Antozzi stated that he would have staff research
the web site.
Commissioner Foster stated that our soccer fields are better than
New Post.
Meeting adjourned at 7:58 p.m.
