The Fredericktown Village council met in regular session on December 6, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at the
Fredericktown Municipal Building.
PRESENT: Council Members Brewer, de Rojas, Lanuzza, Shoemaker, McKnight and Van
Nostrand; Administrator Snell; Sergeant Jones; Solicitor Landon.
Mayor Day called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
INVOCATION: Bill Van Nostrand, Council Member
MINUTES: Lanuzza made a motion to approve the November 15, 2021 minutes. Seconded by
Brewer. All yea.
INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS:
• Rita Fenton. Applauded the Christmas walk committee for a great turnout. Car on jacks on
Mulberry, blue house on corner. Mayor said issue will be addressed through police
department.
LEGISLATION:
ORDINANCE 2021-28 – AN ORDINANCE MAKING SUPPLEMENTAL
APPROPRIAITONS
McKnight made a motion to pass Ordinance 2021-28. Seconded by Shoemaker. All Yea.
RESOLUTION 2021-29 – A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE AN EASEMENT IN RELATION TO PARCEL NUMBER 65-01640.000 AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
de Rojas made a motion to waive the three readings of Ordinance 2021-29. Seconded by Brewer.

RESOLUTION NO. 2021-30 – A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE
ADMINISTRATOR TO PREPARE AND SUBMIT AND APPLICATION FOR
TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM (TAP) GRANT FUNDING
THROUGH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (ODOT)
OLD BUSINESS:
• Structure change of committee meetings. Beginning in January 2021, Safety and Finance
Committee meetings will be held on the first Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. Public
Works Committee meetings will be held on the third Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
Planning Commission meetings will be held on the fourth Monday of each month at 5:00
p.m.

• Mayor signed 2021 Food for The Hungry Proclamation

EXECUTIVE SESSION: Lanuzza made a motion to enter into executive session for the purpose
of discussing personnel, and asked Solicitor Landon to remain. Seconded by Van Nostrand. All
yea.
Council entered into executive session at 7:40 p.m. Council returned to regular session at 8:17 p.m.
ORDINANCE NO. 2021-31 AN ORDINANCE CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF
TRACEY A. MYERS AS THE CHIEF OF POLICE OF THE FREDERICKTOWN
POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND WAIVING THE RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT SET
FORTH IN THE OHIO REVISED CODE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
Shoemaker made a motion to waive the three readings of Ordinance 2021-31. Seconded by Van
Nostrand. Lanuzza made a motion to pass Ordinance 2021-31. Seconded by Brewer. All Yea.
ORDINANCE NO. 2021-32 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 2021-09 AN
ORDINANCE SPECIFYING THE STAFFING AND WAGES OF EMPLOYEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF FREDERICKTOWN, ESTABLISHING THE SALARY OF THE NEXT
APPOINTED CHIEF OF POLICE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
Lanuzza made a motion to waive the three readings of Ordinance 2021-32. Seconded by Brewer.
