The Fredericktown Village council met in regular session on February 21, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at the
Fredericktown Municipal Building.
PRESENT: Council Members Brewer, de Rojas, Hobson, Lanuzza, Shoemaker and McKnight;
Administrator Snell; Fiscal Officer Graves; Chief Myers.
Mayor Day called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
INVOCATION: Gail Angel, United Methodist Church
MINUTES: McKnight made a motion to approve the February 7, 2022 minutes. Seconded by Shoemaker.
INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS: None
LEGISLATION:
ORDINANCE NO. 2022-05 – ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE - Tabled
OLD BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS: None
VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT:
• Village was not approved for OPWC funding for 2022 street paving. Will pave Salem Avenue for
around $155,000.
• There have been three people fall in front of the municipal building in the last three months. Putting
a rail by sidewalk in front of building.
• Discussion about the purchase of automated external defibrillator (AED) units for the Village
Council Chamber, Police Station, and one to share with patrol cars. Lanuzza made a motion to
purchase the AED units. Seconded by Hobson, All yea. Administrator is looking into possible grant
funding to purchase the AED units.
FISCAL OFFICER'S REPORT:
• Council reviewed the bills, financial reports and bank reconciliation statement for the
month of January 2022. Hobson made a motion to approve the financial reports, bills and
bank statement for January 2022. Seconded by Lanuzza. All Yea.
• Reminded Council Members to do public records training.
POLICE CHIEF REPORT:
• Recommended promoting Patrolman Justin Duvall to Sergeant. Would like to have a
ceremonial swearing in at the March 7th council meeting. Lanuzza made a motion to
appoint to Justin Duvall to the position of Sergeant effective February 28th. Seconded by
Hobson, all yea.
• Neighborhood Watch meetings will now be held on the third Tuesday of every month at
6:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber.

and Lanuzza.
