March 7, 2022 The Fredericktown Village council met in regular session on March 7, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at the Fredericktown Municipal Building. PRESENT: Council Members Brewer, de Rojas, Hobson, Lanuzza, Shoemaker and McKnight; Administrator Snell; Fiscal Officer Graves; Chief Myers; Solicitor Landon Mayor Day called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. INVOCATION: Larry Carnes, Waterford United Methodist Church. MINUTES: de Rojas made a motion to approve the February 21, 2022 minutes. Seconded by Shoemaker. INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS: Patrolman Duvall and family. Patrolman Duvall was promoted to the position of Lieutenant and sworn in by Mayor Day effective February 28th. LEGISLATION: ORDINANCE NO. 2022-05 - ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE Lanuzza made a motion to waive the three readings of Ordinance 2022-05. Seconded by Brewer. All Yea. Lanuzza made a motion to pass Ordinance 2022-05. Seconded by Brewer. All Yea. (First Reading) ORDINANCE NO. 2022-06 - PAYROLL ORDINANCE OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: • Mayor Day recommended Eric Oswalt to serve on the Recreation Board. Lanuzza made a motion to appoint Eric Oswalt to the Recreation Board, seconded by McKnight. VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: • Wrapping up bid documents for water tower project. Hope to have out to bid by end of March, start project June 1st, and finish at the end of summer. FISCAL OFFICER'S REPORT: • Public Records Commission meeting tentatively set for April 18th at 6:45 p.m. POLICE CHIEF REPORT: • Neighborhood watch meetings are now held on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the council chamber. • Starting to plan for National Night Out, August 2, 2022. ZONING INSPECTOR’S REPORT: None SOLICITOR'S REPORT: None COMMITTEE REPORTS: PLANNING COMMISSION: Next meeting March 16th PUBLIC WORKS: Next meeting March 21st • Shoemaker said that Intel is forming a steering committee, however, Knox County/Fredericktown falls out of the 45-minute range from New Albany. SAFETY & FINANCE COMMITTEES: Next meeting April 4th MISCELLANEOUS COMMITTEE REPORTS: • Fire Department Board. de Rojas said Chief Kevin Swain resigned. Bernie Douglas is interim Chief. Next meeting is March 9th at 7:00 p.m. ADJOURNMENT – de Rojas made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Shoemaker. All Yea.
