May 5, 2025 The Fredericktown Village Council met in regular session on May 5, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the Fredericktown Municipal Building. PRESENT: Council Members, Brewer, de Rojas, Hobson, Lanuzza; McKnight; Shoemaker; Administrator Snell; Chief Myers; Fiscal Officer Graves. Mayor Day called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. INVOCATION: Andy Smith, New Life Church of Christ. MINUTES: • Brewer made a motion to approve the April 21, 2025 council meeting minutes. Seconded by de Rojas. All Yea. VISITOR COMMENTS: • Bill Wilson, Old Mansfield Road, has concerns about current Council Member that is appointed to the Fire Board. Mayor said he will take his concerns into advisement. LEGISLATION: • (Second Reading) RESOLUTION NO. 2025-11 - A RESOLUTION TO PROCEED WITH SUBMISSION OF THE QUESTION OF LEVYING A RENEWAL TAX IN EXCESS OF THE TEN-MILL LIMITATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING AND MAINTAINING POLICE PROTECTION OLD BUSINESS: • Water Improvements Project: o Taylor Nimeth from U.S. Representative Balderson’s office said our federal grant application for the Water Improvement has been sent to the appropriation committee. • Sewer Plant Project: No update • Streetscape Project Wrap-up: No update • Marijuana Moratorium: No update • Continuity of Operations Plan: No update • Library Agreement: Ongoing • Installation of cameras at municipal building: Lanuzza will check on date with Custom Wired. NEW BUSINESS: • Lanuzza attended the National day of Prayer event on May 1st. • Lanuzza said Bobby Bryan decorated the Gazebo for Prom photos, and will do so for Graduation photos. VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: • Met with representative from AEP about generation rates increasing for customers • Someone inquired about replacing the bench that was removed in front of the Historical Society. Lanuzza made a motion to purchase a new bench to place there, seconded by de Rojas. All Yea.  • Reminded everyone about State Issue 2 on the ballot May 6th. If approved, this will continue funding OPWC projects. FISCAL OFFICER'S REPORT: • Records Commission meeting, May 19th at 6:30 p.m. POLICE CHIEF REPORT: • Have done two interviews for patrol officer position. • Had total of 63 lbs. for drug take back day (45 lbs. in lobby bin) • Neighborhood Watch meeting, May 20th at 6:30 p.m. COMMITTEE REPORTS: None • Safety, Public Works and Finance Committees – next meeting May 19th • Planning Commission – to be determined • Miscellaneous Committee Reports o Lanuzza reminded everyone about the Recreation District renewal levy on the ballot May 6th.
