295 April 30, 2026 On this the 30th day of April, 2026 at 12:45 a.m. the City Council of the City of Friona, Texas, convened in special session at the regular meeting place thereof, in the Friona City Council Chambers, 619 Main Street, the meeting being open to the public and notice of said meeting having been given as prescribed by Chapter 551 of the Government Code, with the members being present and in attendance, to wit: Greg Lewellen, Mayor Andy Alexander, Council Member David Gonzales, Council Member Brent Loflin, Council Member Esmeralda Mills, Council Member Leander Davila, City Manager/City Secretary Not Present: Alan Monroe, Mayor Pro-Tem Other present: Kristopher Swan, City Manager Candidate 1:00 p.m. Brian Barboza, City Manager Candidate 2:00 p.m. Mayor Lewellen called the meeting to order at 12:45 p.m. ITEM 1 ROLL CALL The Mayor called roll and announced that a quorum was present. ITEM 2 HEAR PUBLIC COMMENTS. There were no public comments EXECUTIVE SESSION: The City Council went into closed session at 12:55 p.m. ITEM 3 CITY COUNCIL WILL CONVENE INTO CLOSED EXECUTIVE SESSION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE GOVERNMENT CODE, SUBCHAPTER D, SECTION 551.074, “PERSONNEL”, REGARDING THE SELECTION, HIRING, AND COMPENSATION OF A CITY MANAGER, TO INCLUDE MEETING WITH ONE OR MORE CANDIDATES FOR INTERVIEW(S) Kristopher Swan, candidate for City Manager, came into Executive Session at 1:00 p.m. and left Executive Session at 1:47 p.m. Brian Barboza, candidate for City Manager, came into Executive Session at 2:01 p.m. and left Executive Session at 2:43 p.m. 296 REGULAR HEARING: The city council came out of closed session at 3:09 p.m. ITEM 4 RECONVENE INTO REGULAR SESSION AND CONSIDER ACTION IF ANY, ON ITEM 3 DISCUSSED IN EXECUTIVE SESSION No action was taken.
