CITIZEN INPUT No one wished to speak. REGULAR AGENDA 1. FY20 Year End Reports. Marla Roe, Visit Frisco Executive Director, welcomed the City Council and Visit Frisco Board. She began with presenting the Visit Frisco Employee of the Year Award to Wesley Lucas, Senior Communications Manager. Ms. Roe then presented the End of the Year Recap (Exhibit A). She highlighted the latest information regarding hotel occupancy and mentioned the City saw a slight increase this summer in hotel occupancy, but the occupancy is now trending down again. However, she noted that seems to be the trend nationwide. She also mentioned hotel occupancy tax is down from $6,585,178 to $3,986,338 for FY20/21. Ms. Roe then introduced Josh Dill, Director of Sports and Events, who presented slides regarding total events consumed for FY20, total room nights consumed for FY20, and the economic impact of consumed events for FY20. He noted bookings for the past year were down to $40,233,933 from the projected $63,634,838. Additionally, Mr. Dill presented the Annual Pace Report, which highlighted the decreases caused by the pandemic and noted most events are rebooking business for 2023 and 2024. 2. FY21 Sales and Marketing Plan. Christina Miller, Visit Frisco Director of Sales and Services, presented the Services Team slides. She mentioned the “Know Before You Go” flyer (Exhibit B) created for the public to help them feel safe, was placed on each table for City Council and the Visit Frisco Board to review. It was noted that the FY21 Visit Frisco Sales and Marketing Plan (Exhibit C) was handed out prior to the meeting. Cori Powers, Visit Frisco Director of Marketing and Communications, presented Page 2 of 7  the marketing slides which included the results from the marketing campaign, and the recovery results. She also mentioned marketing on social media and stated Staff had concluded that marketing on Facebook and Instagram garnered the most results. She stated Staff will be trying a Pinterest campaign in the near future. 3. Brand Campaign Presentation by VERB. Cori Powers, Visit Frisco Director of Marketing and Communications, announced that VERB Interactive from Halifax, Canada, was going to assist with a new brand campaign for Visit Frisco. Stephanie McGrath and Courtney Richardson from VERB Interactive gave a presentation (Exhibit D) reviewing the survey and interview findings from their research. Furthermore, they presented City Council and the Visit Frisco Board with the potential new campaign ads. ADJOURN Deputy Mayor Pro-Tem Shona Huffman moved to adjourn at 6:54 p.m. Mayor Pro-Tem Will Sowell seconded the motion, and the motion carried with a unanimous vote of the City Council.
