A. CALL TO ORDER - Invocation, Pledge of Allegiance, Roll Call
Gahanna City Council met in Regular Session on Monday, May 1,
2017, in Council Chambers of City Hall, 200 South Hamilton Road,
Gahanna, Ohio. President of Council, Brian D. Larick, called the
meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Vice President of Council, Jamie
Leeseberg, delivered an Invocation followed by the Pledge of
Allegiance. Agenda for this meeting was published on April 28, 2017.

Leeseberg said next meeting is on Tuesday.
Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) - Angelou
Angelou reported the next meeting is May 11.
Gahanna-Jefferson Board of Education - Metzbower
Metzbower said next school meeting is on May 11.
Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) - Renner
Renner stated that this Sunday, May 7, marks the beginning of Visit
Gahanna’s inaugural “Herb’n Restaurant Week”; this event, which will
run from May 7 through 13, was created by Visit Gahanna to
showcase the city’s designation as the “Herb Capital of Ohio” and to
build upon the city’s popular Herb Day festivities; nine signature
Gahanna restaurants and bakeries have challenged their chefs to
create original dishes inspired by herbs; dishes that will only be
available next week; residents and visitors can dine at a different
Gahanna Herb’n Restaurant participating location every night next
week; Visit Gahanna’s next edition of the Official Gahanna Visitors
Guide is expected to go to print later this week; new guides should be
in hand before the end of the month; today marks 45 days before the
19th annual Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival; this year’s schedule
features headliners on both the blues and jazz stages every night of
the weekend; for a full list of the stage lineups as well as the new
activities that will be offered, go to www.creeksidebluesandjazz.com;
there is still time for businesses to support Gahanna’s largest
signature event, and to use the opportunity to get their name in front of
more than 35,000 attendees, by becoming a sponsor of the Festival;
anyone interested in supporting the event should contact Visit
Gahanna’s office at info@visitgahanna.com or call 614/418-9114; the
Festival’s new online ticketing process is proving to be successful;
daily admission bands, reserved seating packages, and discounted
weekend admission bands, are available online for purchase;
volunteer sign ups also are now available online; hundreds of
volunteers will be needed to showcase Gahanna at its best; to sign up
to volunteer, go to creeksidebluesandjazz.com and click on “Get
Involved.”

Mayor
Mayor Kneeland stated that he will be giving a presentation at the next
committee on his trip to China; they continue to meet with businesses;
will update as things progress.
City Attorney
Ewald said there is a Board of Zoning & Building Appeal Meeting on
Thursday to hear an application that was denied by Planning
Commission.
N. COUNCIL COMMENT
Angelou said the MORPC State of the Region was a great event; very
well attended.
Metzbower congratulated Karen on her prestigious award received by
MORPC at the State of the Region.
Other Council Members echoed congratulations on her award.
