A. CALL TO ORDER - Invocation, Pledge of Allegiance, Roll Call
Gahanna City Council met in Regular Session on Monday, August 7,
2017, in Council Chambers of City Hall, 200 South Hamilton Road,
Gahanna, Ohio. Vice President of Council, Jamie Leeseberg, called
the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Council Member, Karen Angelou,
delivered an Invocation followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Agenda
for this meeting was published on August 4, 2017.
Council Member Larick arrived at 7:34 p.m.

M. OFFICIAL REPORTS:
Mayor
National Night Out was very successful; car show broke a record this
year; 309 registered cars; not registered cars would drive up numbers;
all proceeds go to Children's Hospital; 16 active projects; will create or
retain 680 jobs; continuing to pound that drum; working hard to bring
in new jobs; business retention and expansion; 66 completed
business visits this year.
Mayor added the CEO Roundtable was a great event; very good
turnout.
City Attorney
Ewald said working with chair of Code Committee; will ask Deputy
Chief Spence to attend next meeting to discuss the mobile food
vendor section.
N. COUNCIL COMMENT
Metzbower said congrats to the Mayor on the CEO Roundtable.
Angelou said National Night Out was a great time; a lot of police
presence; proud to be here; the Corvette Show was a nice event;
Safety Director Thomas said they gave out 96 awards; she enjoyed
the food at Somedays; really nice place to eat.
Schnetzer said board reps are up for reelection; it is campaign season
for some of us; he has received a lot of praise about the Mayor;
fireworks; how everyone enjoyed car show; kudos to Deputy Chief
Spence; everyone gave their praises on the police officers.
Leeseberg said it was great to see how well attended National Night
Out was this year; good times.

O. EXECUTIVE SESSION - to go into Executive Session under authority of
Section 5.40(g) of the Council Rules of Procedure to consider confidential
information related to the marketing plans, specific business strategy,
production techniques, trade secrets, or personal financial statements of
an applicant for economic development assistance, or to negotiations
with other political subdivisions respecting requests for economic
development assistance AND under authority of Section 5.40(e) of the
Council Rules of Procedure to discuss matters required to be kept
confidential by federal law or rules or state statutes.
A motion was made by Schnetzer, seconded by Renner, to go into Executive
Session under authority of Section 5.40(g) of the Council Rules of Procedure to

Vice President Leeseberg requested the Mayor, Anthony Jones, Jennifer Teal
and the Auditors attend the Executive Session. Executive Session was held in
the Law Library and then moved to the Committee Room.

Council rose to report from Executive Session at 9:32 p.m. with no action
taken.
