ORDINANCES FOR INTRODUCTION, WAIVER & EMERGENCY ADOPTION: ORD-077-2020 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE AND ENGINEERING TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH BELFOR FOR REPAIRS OF THE OKLAHOMA AVENUE SERVICE COMPLEX STORAGE BINS; WAIVING SECOND READING; DECLARING IT AN EMERGENCY. REPRESENTATIVES: Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) - Larick Mr. Larick said that there is a planning session scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2020. Mr. Leeseberg asked the Mayor to provide an update on the applications received by CIC on their program. Mayor Jadwin said there were 8 applications, 6 approved and 4 additional have come in and are about to be reviewed. Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) - Angelou Mrs. Angelou presented her report from Mid-Ohio Regional Planning which is attached. 2020-153 MORPC Report 9/21/2020 City of Gahanna Page 4 City Council Meeting Minutes September 21, 2020 Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) - Leeseberg Mr. Leeseberg presented the Convention & Visitor's Bureau report which is attached. 2020-150 Convention & Visitors Bureau Report 9/21/2020 School Board (SB) - Schnetzer No report I. OFFICIAL REPORTS: Mayor The Mayor presented her report which included updates from the various directors. Report is attached. She discussed Trick or Treat and the guidelines for this years' event. She also discussed her Proclamation for Gahanna Sanctuary Day. She shared that on September 11, 2020 there was an accident at 62 and Olde Ridenour Road. Officer Jason Jones was able to respond to the victim and provided assistance to the 19 year old victim. Riverside Hospital medical staff contacted the Chief and shared that Officer Jones's actions saved the young man's life. 2020-151 Mayor's Report 9/21/2020 City Attorney Mr. Mularski said he was working on the rental registration changes and hoped to have them by the next meeting. J. COUNCIL COMMENT Mr. Larick said he was sorry he missed the last meeting. He was in Yosemite National Park. Mrs. Angelou said she is looking forward to being back in person. Ms. Bowers congratulated the Make Gahanna Yours Farmers Market for a fantastic season and the Gahanna Arts Council for their concert and that another was upcoming. She thanked Gahanna Police, first responders, teachers and health care workers for their important work. She expressed condolences on the loss of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. Mr. Renner said that thank you to the PD for their handling of the accident City of Gahanna Page 5 City Council Meeting Minutes September 21, 2020 on September 11. He shared that the CSO event at Sunpoint Park was a great success and he heard that the CSO Director said it was one of the highest attended events ever. Mrs. McGregor congratulated Officer Jones and Officer S** for assisting the young man in the accident on September 11. She shared when her son, 9 years old at the time, was hit by a car at the same intersection and how the officer then assisted him. She thanked everyone that was involved in the support Gahanna together day. Mr. Leeseberg thanked the Gahanna Police for their hard work. He said the Gahanna Sanctuary event is Sunday and it's a unique and interesting building. K.
